I have been with dr. Kang for 20 years, I would love to know why he left and if he has a office somewhere else. He has done wonders for me and trust him totally
Dr. Kang did my spinal fusion and I am so much better thank you he is a great surgeon
DR. KANG HAS A GREAT PERSONALITY AND HE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH ME WAS MY SURGERY LEFT ME WITH DROP FOOT AND NEOROPATHY IN MY FEET. HE SAID THE NEVERS FROM THE 5TH DISC HAD GOTTEN SQUISHED
He is great but I just heard today he left the hospital. Where did he go I am looking at possible more surgery soon?
Straight forward, I just felt comfortable the very first time meeting with Dr Kang., He performed a 3 disc cervical lam fusion with 100 percent success. All i can say is, in my eyes Dr Kang is the best. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.
I just got back from seeing Dr. Kang and am very displeased. I spent $80 on a co-pay for him to tell me my discs are collapsing at L3-L4 but has gotten worse since he seen me in 2012 when I went to him for a second opinion after I was injured in physical therapy. I was in a car accident a few months ago and I think it aggravated my prior injury. I was seen by his Fellow first who was wonderful and then Dr. Kang seen me next and he says the only thing they could do for me is a spinal fusion but it would just cause me more problems from my degenerative disc disease. So I was sitting in the office in moderate pain as he could see. And he tells me that it should settle back down again as it did before and that within a year my discs will have collapsed and formed bone spurs and my pain will be gone. Ok, I'm fine with that but what can I do now?! I went to him to see if I could get steroid injections because I can't stand being in pain and not being able to stand up erect until a few hours of being out of bed. He tells me the only thing to do is to take anti-inflammatories. I've BEEN taking 800mgs of ibuprofen 3xday for two weeks. It does NOTHING! My PCP does provide me with Percocet 5/325mg 30tabs which I usually get filled every 3-4months and lately I've been getting it every 1-2months because of increased pain related a fairly recent motor vehicle accident. I am amazed that he is ok with letting patients be in pain. It is our right as a patient to be pain free or at least tolerable. Since my initial injury I have come to understand pain a little differently as an RN. And now I am not so quick to say someone is a narcotic abuser. I hate taking pain meds which is why I went to him again for an alternative (steroid injections) or anything to be able to function daily. Pain meds only mask the pain for a short time. He was so quick with my appt I felt rushed. I called his office to see if he could give me a script for steroids to calm my back down (these help more than pain pills bc it helps the inflammation) and she says that his not says for me to take NSAIDS. No crap! But that doesn't help which is why I made the darn appt to see him again in the first place!!!! I just put a call in to my PCP for oral steroids and she called them in with no problem! So don't waste your time going in for an appt unless you want a wasted trip and a bill.
Dr. Kang helped me when no one else could. He was the only one to properly diagnose and promptly fix my problem. He is still guiding me. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Ever.
Dr.kang performed my neck surgery 5 years ago and took away 90% of my pain. He is an awesome dedicated surgeon. I am again going back to him for surgery for a new injury. Wouldn't go elsewhere. Trust him to fix all of your problems.
Dont trust this man!!! He stole my life from me 13 years ago,,, He is great at talking people into surgery and when it goes wrong he will give you a number to a pain clinic,, He should be in jail for what he did to me,,
Awesome Dr....love him....very nice bedside manner very honest. I recommend him to everyone!!
Dr. Kang is an excellent surgeon. A very compassionate, caring doctor. I am pain free due to him!!!! I have recommended him to several people.
In 2006 Dr Kang fused 2 locations in my back. I couldn't walk 50 feet before. After, I was able to climb, run and do all the things that I couldn't do since the accident. I owe so much to his skills and his exceptional bedside manners.
I let him "FIX" me just like he stated he would. Now I'm "FIXED" for life. Unable to most anything. I was able to a lot more before he touched me. Now I can "just" walk. When he stated "FIX" it wasn't the kind of fix I expected! Then 26 months after the surgery, He tells me to go find another surgen, cause he "FIXED" me!
I allowed this guy to do the surgery that he felt would take care of my problems. I have been sufering worst problems sence the surgery. I am now unable to lift anything over 5 pounds. when I pointed it out to Dr. kane, he tould me" I fixed what your problem was..." but, I am worst off 3 years later than I was the day before the surgery that has left me totally disabled! Do Not Place your trust in this Surgen!!!
If the stars line up and you're lucky enough to have Dr. Kang as your surgeon, say a prayer and thank God. Dr. Kang handles some of the most difficult cases that come into UPMC. He saved my life.
I had extensive back surgery due to a fall years ago.The surgery was 12 weeks ago and I have no complaints. I am swimming a mile daily, walking 4 miles, chipping and putting. Oh, I forgot biking.I took his advice and had the surgery. It was scary thinking about it but I had so much confidence in him. He is the best in Pittsburgh. Thank you Dr. Kang.
DR KANG WAS VERY CARING AND VERY HONEST .HE AND HIS STAFF WERE GREAT. THEY EXPLAINED THINGS TO U AND MADE U FILL COMFORTABLE.
Was kind enought to take me as a patient, being from Erie, PA. His staff was extremely helpful in getting the information Dr. Kang needed in advance as well as information in time for my surgery. The surgery was explained to me in detail and the operation was very successful. An extremely understanding person and a true professional!!
Dr Kang is truly a great surgeon. I had four discs in my neck that were gone and I was experiencing a lot of discomfort for many years. Dr Kang was highly recommended by my Physical Therapist so I made an appointment. Dr Kang spent plenty of time explaining the different procedures, advantages and disadvantages and which would be the best procedure for my particular situation. He thoroughly explained all the risks involved in the surgery but I was immediately confident in his ability based on his high level of professionalism, experience, knowledge and confidence. Dr Kang genuinely cares for his patients and I would never hesitate to recommend him.
You're the best!
I went to him from a referral of my PCP and it was well worth the wait. He sat down and explained several paths to go and surgery was the best way to keep from ending up in a Hover Round. It has been a year in a week sice the surgery and I am pleased, given my alternative. I walk and climb stairs though not as many or as far as I did 20 years ago. Occassional use of a cane but upright. I was on the table for about 5 hours and in the Hospital 5 days. I was NOT in pain from the surgery but.... I am ethnic, which means very hairy and no one shaved my back pre-surgery. The most painful part of my visit was when they pulled the original dressing off.... Brasilian waxing doesn't hold a candle.I was standing at my bed after getting to my room from recovery and the next day I was walking and climbing the practice stairs they had there. I was cut open from my shoulderblades to where God gave me a crack so it wasn't an easy surgery for the team... LOL I slept through it so no sweat for me. Aside from some tingling in my toes once in a while... all seems good and with checkups showing progress... I seem good to go.I recommend Dr. Kang to anyone with problems in his field and even my PCP is pleased with him and my progress. I am no lightweight so his team had a JOB with me. My apologies for the strains. He is worth the wait.....
