Dr. James Warren Vanhook, MD

I was transferred to UC after finding out i had preeclampsia and my daughter would more then likely be born preemie the hospital close to my house didnt have the equipment to care for a baby born as early as they was expecting my daughter (they didn't expect her to make it to 37 weeks) I saw Dr van hook a few times in the office he was the dr that saw me the day I had my daughter to tell me they needed to take her in fear she would become still born. I had tons of complications preeclampsia was just some of them. I was in and out of uc alot when we was there we was on bedrest to monitor us . His wife is the Dr that delivered my daughter at 34 weeks. She was tiny like they said she would be but other wise she was healthy only needed oxygen for a little but most of her NICU stay was to gain weight and not have to be under the lights. She didnt stay in NICU as long as they all thought she would (all the OB's I saw up until i had her even the specialists I saw told me she would stay till… at least her due date but probably longer. I think she was released when she was around 37-37.5 weeks) I fully recommend him and his wife. Him and his team are the reason I have a beautiful healthy (shes still small) 2 year old. Thank you to all the UC staff that was there for us during it all.

I came to the hospital as an emergency. Dr. VanHook literally saved my baby's life. He had to make tough calls in an emergent situation and everything he did allowed me to carry my baby beyond 23 weeks pregnant to pregnant and healthy still today at 28 weeks. He was a blessing to our family and we will forever be grateful that he was the doctor we saw that scary night.
