Wouldn’t recommend. Judgy and pompous. Freaked out when I told her I was no longer going to use a therapist in her office that recommended me to her. She was very rude and seemed unprofessional. Maybe lacking in the idea of pharmaceuticals.

If this is the same Dr. Herron that worked at San Antonio State Hospital a few years back, she had me committed for bipolar disorder even though I was never once diagnosed. While committed every time I asked her when I could go home she laughed at me. Nothing on my medical record even indicates that I have bipolar.

It's true that you may have to wait a while past your appointment time before you go in to the office, but it's becausee she is not one of the clock-watching doctors who kicks you out as soon as your time is done regardless of where you are in the session. She cares about her patients and gives each the time that they need in order to serve them best in their treatment. She has been so flexible and helpful to me, I really don't know where I would be without her. This woman is amazing.

We had a poor experience with another psychiatrist in Austin before switching to Dr Herron. She shows more empathy and compassion than I've ever experienced with a physician. She listens intently, knows our story, and I never feel rushed. If I had to complain about anything sometimes the wait is long which is a tradeoff I'll happily take to see her.

Dr Herron is excellent. She relates well to children, tweens, and teens. The ONLY problem is that we sometimes have to wait for an excessive amount of time. However, the reason is probably that she takes as much time as needed. I never feel like she's rushing us and is always willing to answer all our questions.

Dr. Herron is good with ADD--she keeps up with current research and has always responded to our concerns. Her only issue is waiting time--sometimes the waits are too long--30 minutes or so. But if you need more time, she gives it to you, so I think it evens out.
