Dr. Jason M Rashkin, MD

I have never seen a physician take their time to explain things like he did to me. He made me a part of the treatment process, and I can't say enough about how much this puts my mind at ease.

I recently had a pacemaker defibrillator with him. I healed nicely, and had minimal pain.

He took care of my dad. Most physicians don't even bother talking to my father, because he is demented, but Dr. Rashkin spoke to him about his condition like he was a human being. It was really refreshing.

I just finished seeing him, and I really felt like I had to pay him a compliment. Some of the best bedside manner I’ve seen in a doctor. You can tell he really enjoys his job. Very knowledgeable.

I found him to be very unbiased. Sometimes with surgeons, I become concerned that they make their clinical decisions based on factors besides whats best for my welfare. He presented the treatment choices to me in a very clear fashion, and I felt like I was an integral part of the decision making process. He loves his little whiteboard! I felt a little bit like I was back in school, but it is obvious he loves to teach and explain.

He said the type of problem I had was relatively common, but he was understanding that it could be very alarming to me. The first time we discussed I did not want to have the procedure done, but because it continued to bother me, I decided to do it, and I’m glad I did. He explained things to me many times and was very patient with me. The procedure itself went fine. I feel much better now and haven’t had any more fast heart beats.

This physician's talent as a surgeon was tempered by his ghastly bedside manner. I met him in the prep area of the OR. I was alone, sick, scared and vulnerable. If I live to be 100 years old, I will always remember my encounter with him. He was rude and dismissive. I remember feeling like a product rather than a person. I was just the next case. I have a name - I wonder if he knew it as well as I know his.

I met him when I was in the hospital, and there were so many doctors. He was the one who told me about the plan, and put things together for me.

He ran a little behind for me, but I feel like that was OK because he wasn't rushed with me when he was in the room. I felt like he paid attention to me.

He ran a little behind for me. But the wait was worth it. He's actually kind of funny, which went a long way towards making me feel at ease. The crazy thing is, he very slickly implied that my weight was contributing to my problems, without me wanting to slap him. A true accomplishment, because he's right!
