Dr. Javed Aslam Rana, MD

I took my brother in law to a appointment the other day with Dr.Rana, so I called and they got him in the same day I called. We were called back to a room fairly fast and the doctor addressed the issue, the only thing I felt was not handled with a good bed side manor was dr.rana came into the room, and immediately went to the window, mind you it's like 102 degrees out side, he opened the window all the way up, as he was trying to keep a distance from us, said that he needed to have better hygiene, and that the smell of smoke was over bearing and that he needed to see a specialist for the problem, he put in for a referral, he told us from now on, before we go to his appointments and the doctor he referred us to that he needed to make sure he had better hygiene and shower that day and to not smoke in the car to his appointments. He asked the patient if he wanted help to stop smoking , and he said yes and the Dr sent in script for patches, also gave us a help stop smoking hot line number… to call, I felt it was a bit much to treat us like we were nasty and disgusting because he is a doctor and sees and smells gross things all the time. I felt like he was a bit rude and it really hurt my brother in laws feelings. He has been seeing this doctor for a long time and said he did not want to change doctors. I give him 3 stars because he did address the issue at hand he just had that attitude that doctors get after a while of entitlement, non the less he looked at us as if we were trash, and had no problem doing it. But did get him in fast and looked at. He is supposed to see him again in few weeks, I will not be going but the person that is will be leaving a follow up review.

Dr Rana was assigned to me by Medicaid and as noun Medicaid only has 12 slots per year with any doctor visits. I went to see him when I first moved down here 7 years ago and he ran tests and everything else for the fact that I was fainting and in massive amounts of pain and when I told him I'm almost out of slots and I still have to have a psychiatrist he told me that my pain and fainting was caused by my mental problems. Yet he never showed me any test results any x-ray results or anything. Recently I had to go back and see him and I was given an x-ray due to the back pain and told they were going to make an MRI appointment for me as well as I was to come back and see him in 4 weeks after the MRI was done with the results. The MRI was never scheduled even though I called many times I therefore cancelled the appointment with dr. Rana not wanting to waste one of my very few Medicaid slots and therefore I am still in pain still having issues with my back which causes problems for me to… walk and move and do other things. But many of times I've spent days calling around trying to find a doctor with an open Medicaid slot to try to get a different doctor. I have decided firmly that I will not see Dr Rana even though he is my appointed Dr instead I will wait for it to get to a point I cannot handle and go to the ER. He was also my mother-in-law's Dr and she had to switch because of the lack of care. But she has a different insurance that I do. I would not recommend this doctor to anybody. His office helper so are very kind and try their best.

Dr. Rana saved my daughter's life. He was first doctor to give us a diagnosis. He sent my doctor to Little Rock by helicopter because he thought she had West Nile virus. Turns out she did and if it weren't for Dr. Rana, my daughter would not be sitting next to me today.

I was put on too much blood thinner by this Dr and nearly bled to death.

Very knowledgable, through, and caring. His approach to prescribing medicine is conservative. Good with elderly.

Doctor Rana is very kind, extremely professional and he answered all my questions. He takes the time to understand my concerns and to explain the diagnosis. He is an awesome doctor. I highly recommend him.

He is a good doctor that is concerned about his patients. Front staff is much better than what they had last year. Easier to get in to see him now and the front office now gets the messages back to the nurse and they talk to me instead of at me. Glad he has a new girl working with him.

This guy couldn't diagnose a cold sore.

My family and I drove 1 hour to have Dr. Rana as our physician. He is wonderful! Caring and attentive. The office staff however is rude. Both mine and my daughters prescriptions have run out because the office staff is unable to fax a prescription to my pharmacy. I have called them several times only to be told that someone would call me back. I am not even allowed to go pick up the prescription myself, someone has to call me back. I have chosen another family provider based on this. Very unfortunate because the physician is great.

Always seem to be running 30-45 minutes behind, even after making an appointment. He seems to run a lot of unnecessary tests. Most of the time doesn't even bothering closing the door. Schedules unneeded follow up visits to milk you insurance. Front desk people are very rude. STAY FAR AWAY.
