Dr. Jay Leathers

I have been a telemedicine patient of Dr. Jay Leathers' for over a year and have been very impressed. He has a kind demeanor, been very attentive to my needs, and made me feel comfortable seeing a doctor on the computer instead of in-office. All you have to do is login, then you are in his waiting room. It is as easy as that. If you are looking for a good doctor do not hesitate to make an appointment with him.

At first, Dr. Leathers seemed straightforward and made getting my medications easy, but over time I realized he was just starting to read questions off a screen and didn't seem caring. My appointments were starting to be only 2-3 minutes long (literally). He would ask me what I wanted to do with my medication, when he is the doctor that should be telling me that based on how I feel. My turning point to not wanting to be his patient anymore came about 3 months later when I had very rapid weight gain. When I inquired, he said he's never had a patient ever complain of weight gain on this medication and made me seem like it was impossible. However, when I log into the online portal, it's listed as the third side effect that he was supposed to tell me about. My primary doctor later acknowledge it was definitely the cause of the weight gain as I had no other changes in behavior or medication. I lost all trust at that point in Dr. Leathers and switched providers. If you want a doctor that… will just give you what you want, then he's your doc, but if you want someone who listens and cares, look elsewhere. I never leave poor reviews, but I feel like others should do their research with this.

I was treated with care and respect from start to finish. I feel very lucky to be under the care of this psychiatrist, after having had visited psychiatrists in the past that don't seem to care or listen. His office and lobby are very comforting and relaxing.
