Dr. Jay Raisen, MD

This is by far one of the worst experiences I have had with a Dr. He is not knowledgeable; he is dismissive and comes off cold. All of these things happened over a series of several visits. - He told me my treatment would take 4 to 6 weeks, but then insisted we continue the SAME treatment about 16 weeks out (4 months) from that conversation despite having no real improvement. - He hurt me every time he "cleaned" my ears, and when I told him he was hurting me, he was very dismissive and told me that I "just have sensitive ears". - He refused to reorder medication for me to continue the same treatment (that wasn't having any real improvement in the first place) because it needed pre auth and he "didn't want to do it" because it was "a lot of work", then denied he said that at all. - The first time he cleaned my ears, which were both clogged and causing me hearing difficulties, he did not warn me he was going to clean them, did not warn me that it would make me dizzy, and he hurt me… quite a bit. Additionally, he attempted to speak (in a very monotone low voice) during the cleaning, even though he had very loud noises in my ear and with the knowledge that my other ear was clogged and causing hearing issues - and seemed annoyed when I told him multiple times that I could not hear him, and when I asked him to repeat what he had said because I could not hear him he refused to elaborate. This man should not be practicing medicine. Because of poor treatment from him, this ear infection progressed to the point that the side of my face was swollen, I couldn't chew food and I couldn't sleep. I have been in pain for weeks. I had several vertigo attacks which caused me to call out of work. He never even tried to take a culture to identify what exactly the infection was nor did he try to look deeper into the issue despite the lack of improvement with the current treatment. He insisted I had this infection because I was diabetic -- I'm not, I have had blood tests done within the last 3 weeks of posting this -- and quite literally would not hear me when I tried to talk to him about it, as in he literally was shaking his head "no" as I was speaking. Highly recommend seeking out a different Dr.

Dr. Raisen was thorough in explaining the issue and also, since I had to have him repeat himself more than once, he suggested a hearing test with a member of the practice and set things up.

I've had an earache for a year this doctor knows absolutely nothing I believe he has a beginning stages of dementia so I'm going to have to find another doctor so be careful.

Extremely dissatisfied!! I sat in this office for over an hour and never even seen a Dr!! Music blaring in the hall of the exam rooms. Was one of the first appointments of the day and yet still sat in an exam room waiting on a Dr for over an hour!!

I had an appointment at 8:40 and was told to come 15 min early because being a first time patient. I arrived and was brought to an exam room right away. The nurse came in and did the vitals and things she needed to do and then left. I sat in the room for another 40 min before I got up to leave and then was told they were just coming to get me so I went for the hearing test and was brought back to the room and was told Dr would be right in! 10 min later the front desk lady knocks on door and peaks in says he will be in in a couple of minutes! I sat in this office for over an hour and never even seen the Dr!! I had to find a sub, lose an hour of pay, was charged $25 co pay and never seen a Dr. i was one of the first appointments in the day!!! Maybe if my appointment was at the end of the day it would be a little more understandable but this is absolutely ridiculous!!

Dr. Raisen is a warm friendly man. His bedside manner is thoughtful and caring. I wish Dr. Raisen could be my full time physician. He made my visit relaxed and comfortable even though the procedures were kind of unpleasant.
