Dr. Jeffrey Michael Burock, MD

My blind and deaf 93-year-old father, in the process of a painful death, arrived at Miriam Hospital by ambulance. He had extreme headache pain, so bad he could not eat. They tortured him with unnecessary procedures, like an MRI to see if a brain tumor was the cause of the pain, it was extremely distressing for my father to go through this procedure. I asked them why they were insisting on doing something he found so distressful. The response was to see if it might be a brain tumor causing the head pain. I said, "He is too frail for any kind of brain surgery or radiation treatment to the head". I told them to stop, it was torturing him, they agreed with me and stopped the MRI. He was kept in the hospital overnight for observation, in extreme untreated pain. He came home in extreme untreated pain, NOTHING whatsoever was done to relieve the pain, he died ten days later in extreme pain. Why was Dr. Burock sent in to evaluate my relative? My relative did not have a behavioral or psychiatric… problem, he had extreme pain, Burock did nothing to relieve his pain. Miriam Hospital committed a disgusting crime against humanity, wasted resources and produced a shamefully poor result; did absolutely nothing positive for my father. They should have put him on a strong narcotic IV for the pain. The medical attitude is, he might become addicted! He died in agony ten days later. How could anyone possibly be satisfied with that appalling mismanagement of pain treatment, 100% inadequate!

The doctor has very serious personality problems. I'm surprised he is still in charge of CL service in one of the training facilities in Brown

Horrific individual experience with Burock. He is arrogant, and treats the patient like a piece of meat. Does not spend any time listening to my experience, including what prior psychiatrists have diagnosed after their careful evaluation. He thinks he is God's gift to medicine, and tells you what he knows must be true, and will stop listening to you once he has decided your diagnosis. If you disagree, you may as well be talking to a wall. If I wanted someone to ignore me as much as Jeffrey Burock did at Miriam Hospital, I would just go back to talking to my wife.
