The best best best doktor in the world !!! :)
Dr. Charen has preformed two surgeries on me and has done a superb job on both occasions. The first operation was due to an osteochondroma on my femur, it was removed without any issues. The second operation was due to a grade 3 ACL and lateral meniscus tear, the reconstruction surgery went flawlessly. All throughout recovery I constantly received compliments from several physical therapists on how quickly I recovered and how well of a job the surgeon had done with the scar. Excellent doctor.
Dr. Charen took the time to answer all my questions. He has an outstanding bedside manner and is an excellent doctor.
Dr Charen is the best. I will always recmmend to all my friends and family. Even a total stranger in pt has asked about a good doctor I always say Dr. Charen is not a good Doctor But a great doctor. He gets 10 stars from me.
After undergoing meniscus surgery (and removal of heavy arthritis) just 4 weeks ago, I'm already 99% pain free and back to my normal, active routine. I feel blessed to have found Doctor Charen. and recommend him highly, as it's obvious he truly cares about his patients' health & well being.
I brought him a set of MRI results. Never looked at them. Never asked me about my condition nor the type of pain I was feeling. Just looked at the Xrays he tooked and said if I was younger he could help me and left the office.
Dr. Charen and his staff are true medical professionals who guide you and advise the best treatment plan. I have received 2 hip replacements and have had amazing success with both. They are the best !!
Excellent Doctor and I would choose him again and would recommend him to family and friends.
Dr, Charen is an excellent practitioner who I would highly recommend.
I ruptured my ACL,MCL,menicus and broke my leg in one play during a game. Dr. Charen was great; he spoke to me directly, without an attitude some Drs have, and explained the exact nature of my injury. He was clear about timeframes, expectations and restrictions. He spend the time with me to ensure I understood the injury and the rehab requirements. I would HIGHLY recommend him.
My experience was great from the first office visit to my post-op visit. Dr. Charen took the time to answer questions in a layman's terms and was patient with me. Should you need an orthopedist, I would highly recommend.
I found Dr. Charen and the staff to be both professional and courteous. Time was taken to answer my questions and I received high-quality services from all.
Pleased with all aspects of care. Office staff accommodating and pleasant. Read reviews about poor bedside manor, but did not find that to be the case. Dr. Charen took time to listen and investigate any post-operative complaints and answered all my questions.
I had Knee replacement surgery in 2012 and it went very well . I was very pleased with the surgery and the office visits leading up to the surgery. I was impressed with the after care as well. I was out of work for 6 weeks and the rehab was intense. but I have good mobility and no pain in my knee any more. I had Hip replacement surgery this year (2013) and it went as good if not better than my surgery last year. I am just as pleased with my care and attention with this surgery as the one last year. The rehab and exercise for both surgery's are very important to a good recovery, and increased mobility than before, and a pain free life now. I would recommend DR. Charen whole heartedly.
Proffesional, respectful, caring and straightfoward from the first appointment to the last post operation appointment. Had my first knee operation done by Dr. Charen and went back to him for my second.
Had total knee replacement by Dr Charen and couldn't be happier. My knees are great now.
DR. CHAREN WAS RIGHT TO THE POINT EXPLAINED EVERYTHING ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS HE VISIT ME EVERY DAY WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL NO COMPLAINTS
I have done my ACL reconstruction by Dr. Jeffrey. He had a very accurate diagnosis but even then he confirmed it with MRI results. Surgery went just fine, had no trouble recovering and that was very fast. He was fairly precise and accurate with the recovery instructions. Very informative and answers all the questions very patiently. Will highly recommend Dr Jeffrey. Thank you.
Unless you are desperate, I would absolutely refrain from seeing Dr. Charen. After a one hour and 15 minute wait we received no apology and then were rushed out. He was also short tempered and at the end rude.I absolutely would NOT recommend him
Dr Charen listened to my problem, explained the issue and listened to my concerns regarding the operation and my recovery goals. I aboslutely would recommend Dr Charen to people who need Orthopedic work!
Doctor Charen was excellent -- I broke my ankle and needed surgery to repair it. The Doctor was very helpful and reassuring, and 8 weeks later I am nearing recovery.
Dr. Charen didn't seem to be confident about his diagnosing my knee problem. His decision to operate on my knee was built on a guess of the problem which made me in turn uncomfortable with the decision. I had to wait in the exam room 55 minutes for him to consult another doctor before he came back to me with the decision. I had a terrible experience with his staff and by all means I wouldn't recommend for any of my friends to deal with such a lousy careless staff!
I waited over an hour to have Dr. Charen walk out of the office after 2 minutes without even giving me an opportunity to tell him I had questions. I had to ask a nurse to bring him back to the office. After I asked my questions he asked if I got my money's worth. I told him it wasn't about money, but about my health and he left the room again. I felt undervalued as a patient and certainly questioned the quality of his medical care.
I will not recommend this doctor to anybody. My arthoscopic knee surgery was botched. I went against opinion of my family physician and scheduled my surgery to remove a bone fragment from my knee. I never realized that I will never recover 100% from this surgery. Now I have artheratis in my knee and have to give up sport activities (jogging and tennis). My insurance rejected the claim saying that it was not necessary. Not good.
this was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor(and I worked with them for a number of years) I spent more time filling out papers and waiting then anything. Dr. Charen saw me for a total of one minute he wouldn't answer my question of what a " bone island" was which was my diagnosis on my x-rays, he said he didn't know what was wrong w me so he said he'll give me a cortisone shot. He never explained what it was, what it does, how long it lasts, if there were side effects, nothing! When I declined he said ok and left the room. That was the end of my visit. I was told to leave. After a $50 copayment I still have no clue why I have hip pain and what a bone island is....
Very pushy about having surgery done at the facility he owns, which happens to be out of my network. Simply recommending a particular facility to a patient might be reasonable, but Charen was downright pushy about it. Offered no substantial explanation for his insistence, other than a loud and abrupt "YOU'LL BE FINE. DON'T WORRY." Called me "obstinate" and refused to do the surgery when I chose an in-network facility (one of the three options given to me by his staff member.) This is, by far, the worst encounter I've ever had with a doctor. I'm not merely dissatisfied; I'm disgusted.
He was horrible!!! Poor bedside manner. Hurried/Rushed. Received a very general dx. that was written and not explained. Dr. Pine was even worse.I WILL NOT return to this Group, just awful experience. You can find a much better, pleasant and appreciative ortho elsewhere!!!
I like Dr Charen very much. He is brief and to the point. The office staff that answers the phone sucks. THey are rude beyond belief. One women who takes the xrays and helps the doctor is excellant
Dr. Charen performed my right total knee replacement surgery and I am completely satisfied with the surgery and recovery. Dr. Charen and his staff were extremely professional and caring to both me and my family. My left knee will need replacement soon and I will certainly have Dr. Charen do the surgery. I highly recommend him.
in my eyes if you can't be mindful of me as an individual, i won't let you touch me. so i canceled my surgery and went with another doctor. Dr. Charen is competent however his staff is horrible. that that's a reflection of him. i spend 45minutes sitting and waiting then he finally showed up to the office to see patients. terrible! he sat with me for a few minutes and moved on to the next person. didn't tell me anything i didn't already know. terrible! the staff...absolutely dreadful.
Receptionist at Dr. Charen's office is extremely rude. I was still talking on the phone to explain why I needed an appoitment for the next day and she just hanged upafter she told me there is no opening. I work as an oncology nurse and I have never seen our receptionist talk like this. I do not treat patient like this.I havent met the physian yet but if I am to deal with his team and they are uncompassionate, I will never step inside their office. I feel so bad for the physician.
I would never recommend Dr Charen. I've had surgery by him at JFK Hospital and ended up with a serious bone infection. The worst part is that everything could have been avoided if Dr Charen was a bit more attentive and caring.
