I went to his office for a yearly routine eye exam, and there should be no copay for the visit. But later I received a bill showing that I've to pay $30 copay for the office visit. I then contacted the office and told them that they billed me wrong. Afterwards, they called me back and admitted that they billed me wrong and told me do not worry about the bill. However, they never (I think they just forgot) to rebill my insurance company for a routine eye exam. Several months later, I received that bill asking me to pay the co-pay again. I called them and explained to them the same thing. But the way the staff treated me make me feel very bad. They are trying to find all excuses and do not admit they bill me wrong anymore. And the excuses are funny, like "because you visit the office, it should be an office visit; Or your insurance company do not provide free routine eye exam, etc." Jeffrey Keafortt later called me about the billing problem, he said the same thing, and another question he asked almost drives me nuts:" It seems you are living in XXX city, but why do you come to Springfield for the routine eye exam?" Is this question even related to the billing issue? I later contacted the insurance company and they told me that they are supposed to rebill it for routine eye exam earlier, but it is already pass the deadline for rebill. Unfortunately, I will be sooner or later pay the copay anyway, but they made the mistake and they (including the doctor) are trying to find all kinds of excuses to have me pay it and never admit their fault. The doctor's question also make me feel that I was not welcomed for the routine eye exam because I do not live in Springfield. So if you have any other options, do not choose this doctor!

I think Dr Kearfott does a good job but the office staff is lacking. Brought my father here for eye exam and glasses; he paid his bill in full. Later they sent him another bill and said he owed more money. He will not be returning. Same thing happened with my husband. They should not be allowed to collect more money once they tell you it is paid in full. What people order is based on what they tell you the price is. Maybe something different would have been decided on if the higher price had been told to us at the time of the visit. Very unfair!
