Dr. Jeffery E. Masciopinto, MD

In 2022, I injured my back after trusting a half a$$ed chiropractor to adjust me. After a lot of Physical Therapy, nothing was working. Finally after an MRI, they realized I had spondylolisthesis and needed to consult with a neurosurgeon. I said "I only want Dr Masciopinto". My ex had been to him years earlier, and Dr M's statement of "The last thing I ever want to do is to cut you open. If you commit to it, let's consider all options before we put you on the table. " They instead, sent me to Dr Lozier... no thank you! That experience was absolutely appalling. I contacted the powers that be at SSM and reported the situation, as I had to advocate for myself to have the very best, so I didn't end up with having it done wrong, due to a rushed surgeon. After much discussion, I finally met with Dr Masciopinto. He and his team were so good! They went thru everything we had to do pre-surgery (lose weight and do the pre-pt exercises), and what to do after for the best success so I… never have to be in THAT much pain every again. On March 21, 2023, I had L4-L5 fusion. About 6 months later, I ran into a person who had the same surgery, for the same condition, by the same surgeon. We were BOTH ecstatic as we could move w/o pain, and had our lives back. So for both of us, Dr Masciopinto and the team are the best at SSM! Thank you!

Great doctor highly recommend

I trust dr masciopinto to perform a lumbar fusion. He came highly recommended by my orthopedic surgeon to perform this surgery. A fusion was my only option. No lesser surgeries would be of any benefit to me. While his schedule is very busy, he still takes a great deal of time to thoroughly explain through images and models what's going on in my spine, how it is causing constant pain, and exactly what will happen throughout my surgery and recovery. He and his staff are exceptional!

When Dr. Masciopinto did my prior neck fusion nearly 6 years ago, I was so happy with his performance as a doctor as he was one, after 7 years of trying to find a decent spine doctor, that WOULD fix my issues. Now, after 5 years more issues have developed where discs above and below my prior fusion are now herniating and bulging, and after months & months of treatments, etc, and having him tell me he "won't leave me hanging out there in pain" has told me after taking my case in front of the other surgeons, that they won't do ANYTHING to help me and told me to continue with my pain management....I CANNOT KEEP POPPING PAIN PILLS like I have for the past 2 years; going w/o sleep, living in agony...but they don't care!!! This clinic is FULL of hearless doctors and I would NOT recommend them to anyone anymore...they've changed and keep dragging you along for months on end for NOTHING!!!

Masciopinto did my 2 disc fusion 5 1/2 years ago and the results were wonderful. Now, all these years later I'm having issues above & below the old fusion with more herniated & bulging discs. Needless to say, this is a very painful way to live and now he's met with the other surgeons in the clinic to review my case and has told me I'm not a candidate for another surgery as they don't think I'll benefit enough!! So, now am i supposed to live in this horrible pain for the rest of my life!! NOT HAPPY!!!
