Dr. Jeffrey Donald Willers, MD

My first interaction with Dr. Willers he was condescending and arrogant asking if I even knew what a sprain is. I had an ankle sprain. I called the following week after my foot had become so red and swollen and even a hair moving across my foot sent me to tears. I could only crawl up my stairs and I have NEVER felt pain like that before. We went back to see him and no x-ray - nothing. He looked at it and said I think you have CRPS. My boyfriend tried to tell him that I had heard a "pop" and this pious arrogant doctor said - and I quote "I was not finished - I paused in my statement" - he has NO sympathy - NO bedside manner - he has a "better than thou - I am smarter" attitude. Elite was highly recommended but I will NEVER go back to see them due to that man's lack of caring. As he finished his "well you have CRPS" dialogue I sat and cried and this holier than thou doctor said "I don't think you are crazy" WHAT???? He actually fist bumped me while tears ran down my face - I cannot say… what I want on this forum but I think you can imagine. NEVER will I go back NEVER

Dr. Willers has been a tremendous surgeon for me. He did major surgery on my right ankle, and his professional care and expertise have been outstanding throughout the process. He is direct in his instructions, evaluations, and advice, and his positive and caring demeanor has made this major surgery a wonderful and ankle-saving experience.

Dr. Jeffrey Willers 2004 Hayes St Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37203 Orthopedic Surgeon anagogytn 412 points 6 minutes ago Friend recommended elite sports medicine. Broke my fibula near my ankle. 1st saw his PA she put me in a boot for 3wks, a week later I went back to dr office complaining that I felt snapping and severe pain. Dr said everything was on track. Friend asked why no surgery to fix the fracture with plate, Dr said no need since the ankle was "stable". The next visit he took an x-ray and the bone had shifted and was ready to compound out, dr also stated I (apparently) had bone spurs (!) On the other side of the same ankle. Needed surgery the following Monday and if I waited any longer he would have to possibly graph harvested bone. I went from no problem situation and able to travel to immediate surgery. Once surgery was done he informed me he had also found an"old" bone chip in the same ankle. I had pain in my instep that would not go away, and it turns out cast was… made of three parts - the back and two sides, the two side parts rubbed on both incisions. I'm on 5wk post op and have severe pain, swelling and frozen muscles, I've done 4PT's, I still have massive swelling, severe pain and difficulty walking and doing PT, I asked if I could have something for pain, esp before PT to help thru the pain. He denied any meds said I didn't need any. when my friend asked so you don't have a problem with your patient has pain you won't give any relief, he stated correct. However, as I left a gentleman walked up and asked him for his prescription for pain medication, and the Dr said sure. I also dealt with a staff member named Kim with his PT program who was quite good and knowledgeable but she went on vacation and they gave me a temp PT who, after week 3 of a major surgery in ankle and a large incision on top of my foot, she wants me to ride a bike. The last I heard I was suppose to being a boot, weight bearing g as tolerated and don't turn the foot to one side it another more than 10%. The whole situation has been in huge nightmare. I recommend you have a Dr you can communicate with and not be treated as if you are a junkie, or that you don't have any knowledge of your own body. I am in a desperate situation to be stuck with this Dr. They also charged me for crutches when I had my own going in to doctor. I really need to go to a more compassionate, concerned Dr regarding my health and not return to Dr. Willers and his staff. I do believe he restricts his pain medication prescribed on some patients so he can give more to his athletic male patients. The one spurs and bone chip were in my ankle at the beginning and the fracture should have been operated on the first week and not the fourth week. Update photo taken a year later still have major problems this was for a tiny bone spur which should have been microscopically done other surgeons say never cut into good tendons, difficulty wear shoes, heels, tennis shoes, everything cuts into the scar. Stay away from this doctor. MAN, WOMAN, GOAT...my opinion he butchered me!!! Go to Dr. Shell at TOA! I still can't get my medical records from this Doctor Willers use at your own risk???????? 4 7

Three years ago another foot surgeon left me worse than I was to begin with. Two years ago I told Dr. Willers to amputate my foot unless he could help it. It was that bad. He said lets see if we can avoid that and performed the surgery I should have had to begin with, and I've been a new person ever since. Before surgery I could barely walk and stumbled and fell often. Foot was swollen always. Now, no swelling, golf 4 or 5 days a week, hunt with my sons and chase my grandkids anywhere they go. I sent a friend to him this week and she said it was a God thing. She had seen several doctors who had done her no good and Dr. Willers had her comfortable with him and leaving the office without pain. Her husband grabbed me and hugged me this morning and said he really owed me one. Another lady we know had surgery with the same result as me. She loves him maybe as much as I do. I personally had a wonderful experience not only with both offices and staff, but Dr. Willers was amazing. He listened and cared about my recovery, gave me options and I couldn't be more happy with my results.

Just wish I had gone to Dr. Williers 1 1/2 years ago when I first started having PF pain. Went to another doctor I was familiar with and totally trusted and wound up in a lot worse pain after being treated by him for 9 months. Even was put in a cast that was too tight and extremely painful and then had extreme pain in my ankle that I did not have before. Dr. Willers successful treated my ankle and got it better and then began treating my PF. Dr. Willers has helped me get out of a lot of my extreme pain and I feel that I am still improving under his care. He listens and takes time with me. He also diagnosed me quickly and I would not go to anyone else for my heel, ankle or foot. I wish all doctors were as good. And that's the truth.

I was walking into my workplace one morning and "POW" something let go in my ankle. I couldn't walk on my foot. I made some phone calls and Elite Sports Med. was suggested. I called and got an appointment that day to see Dr. Willers. He ordered an MRI which confirmed what he thought, a ruptured peroneal tendon. Surgery was scheduled the next day. The surgery was a bit more complicated because the tendon literally crumbled in his hand, so a different procedure was performed to repair the tendon. Over all it has been great. Physical therapy was good, and I can't even tell the difference between the two feet. Thank you Dr. Willers!

Dr. Willers is 5Star all the way.. I am nurse of 43 yrs and could not find a Dr. Anywhere else I would want to work on my feet. Bone spurs to the point of hardly walking. 11 weeks post op and can not believe I am walking the way I am. It had grown into my Achilles' tendon so much was involved. Thankful I found him. Will have the other foot done as soon as I feel this one is completely healed

I wasted more than a year of my life with four other doctors who couldn't diagnose me properly before my GP suggested Elite Sports Medicine. As a competitive runner with chronic foot pain, I thought I might never run again -- until I found Dr. Willers. His diagnosis was spot on - Morton's Neuroma. I had surgery and now I am finally on the road to real recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Willers to anyone with foot issues. He truly gave me my life back!

I liked that Dr. Wilber listened carefully to me about my toe problems and gave me some input on his decision. His beside manner was kind and professional. The results have been great. The entire process was very positive.
