Dr. Jennifer Keller, MD

Dr. Keller was my OB/GYN for my second child. From first appointment through follow-up, she was warm, personable and provided me with excellent care and guidance throughout my pregnancy. She always spent enough time with me to cover any questions or concerns that I had and has a thoughtful bedside manner. I trusted that I was in good hands with Dr. Keller and was very happy with my experience. The overall practice is very busy and as a result of other hospitals closing or eliminating their labor and delivery wards, GW was far, far busier and crowded than when I had my first child two years prior. So, a bit of patience will go a long way.

Friendly, competent, knowledgeable, and has a great follow through. She takes time with her patients and answers all your questions in a timely manner. Most impressive is her honesty and communication skills.

I've been going to Dr. Keller for about four years. She has a great bedside manner. She's friendly, kind, nonjudgmental, and efficient. During the exam, she explains what she is doing to alert the patient and prevent any surprises. Getting RXes filled or refilled is hassle-free.

Love her.

I can't rate the doctor, but I can rate my experience with her front office. Terrible, rude, incompetent, unknowledgeable, and enough to make me cancel all future appointments not only with this doctor but with all the doctors within this same practice. When are doctors going to wake up and realize their front office is a reflection of them?

Extremely good professional and very dedicated. You can really tell that she loves what she does. Perfectionist. Very straightforward with issues. At the same time she has the hability to provide comfort to pacient under any circumstances. She will go the extramile with you if needed. She has been my OB during my pregnancy and helped me deliver my baby. Best experience ever.

Dr. Keller is okay. I probably would have remained her patient if I never had any issues, but then a bunch of stuff lead me to dislike her.First, she didn't offer me a crucial test that delayed my diagnosis for months. But I think that's because the FDA doesn't recommend the test for women my age. Still, I think it's a doctor's job to at least tell me about available tests. I didn't even know to ask for itI also think that she really should have referred me to a gyn/onc instead of treating me herself. She kept changing what follow up plan she wanted to do, which tipped me off to the fact that she didn't have a lot of experience treating people with my diagnosis. For that reason, I am now seeing a different doctor.She also told me incorrect information about my pathology. Even when I specifically asked for more information, she told me there was none. That was not true. I don't think she was lying...I honestly think because she didn't think the piece of information was big deal and so… she just forgot about it. I found out the real informtion when I got my medical records to transfer them to another doctor. The information didn't change my treatment, and it turned out not to be a big deal. Still, it was quite shocking for me when I read the bad news myself. If she had told me she could have explained why it wasn't a big deal instead of leaving me to freak out about it.She also told me information that was 100% incorrect. After doing some Googling, she told me she "misspoke." Come on. Own up to your mistake.Also, she has a terrible bedside manner. I think she was trying to be caring and not scare me with possibilities, but I don't think she realizes how much her lack of explanation made the situation worse. For example, she told me that if I got pregnant I would need to be "wathced very closely." This left me with the impression that I was basically screwed if anything bad were to happen. What she didn't say was that there were treatments to prevent preterm birth, but she didn't think I'd need them! That's essentially what she wrote in my medical records, and that piece of information was very encouraging! I really wish she would have said that to me in person!Everything aside, I have to admit I am extremely glad I was her patient. She did surgery to remove a very large piece of my cervix and I've had 2 other doctors tell me that me cervix still looks fantastic, almost like I had nothing done to it. That's a pretty big miracle if you ask me. I'd put up with all the emotional turmoil for that great of a result.Finally, the staff is down right rude. I called to ask some questions before my surgery and asked to speak to Dr. Keller. The receptionist rudely said, "Are you calling her back, or do you just want to talk to her?" In other words, I wasn't just allowed to speak to her unless she called me first. To Dr. Keller's credit, I literally heard her in the background telling the receptionist to put the call through.

This is less a review of Dr. Keller, who is a good competent doctor, than a review of the support staff. They can literally ruin what should be a pleasant visit. They've recently instituted a new computerized check-in system which helps bypass the former long wait at the check-in desk. Now, if they could just automate the prelim visit protocol (urine, weigh-in, blood pressure, check baby's heart beat). That would avoid the current nursing/tech staff's glacial glide (think purposeful gait, now picture the opposite), and their point, grunt and otherwise maddening and frustrating "interaction" with patients.

She was great!!! Very warm and professional. Her nurse was extremely nice as well.
