Dr. Jennifer Dallene Tiller, MD

I came to the emergency room yesterday because my daughter had a fever & kept vomiting. The nurse that checked her was nice and thorough. Everything was going as well as it could be until the doctor, Jennifer D. Tiller, showed up. As soon as Jennifer came into the room she demanded my daughter to have a mask on. My daughter barely turned 1 less than 2 months ago. I found that confusing because to my knowledge mask mandates are for kids 3 years old and up. I did as I was told and put the mask on my child so that Jennifer could check her out despite the fact my child had a really stuffy nose and could barely breathe out of it and adding a mask would just make it worse. She instructed me to hold my child’s arms down so she could check her ears which I did but then as she went to check her nose and mouth I let go and it seemed like Jennifer got irritated with me for doing so even though the nurse that had just done the same exact thing minutes earlier never asked for me to hold my daughter… down. Every time we have gone to doctor appointments, if my daughter was scared or in a bad mood they would try to cheer her up either by singing, making silly noises, or with distraction but Jennifer was the exact opposite. She didn’t try to comfort her like we are used to when seeing the doctor. The most confusing part of it all was that Jennifer ended up pulling my daughter’s mask down to check her nose and mouth. It all seemed a bit redundant and confusing that the nurse and doctor have different protocols. My daughter was terrified & screaming throughout the whole ordeal and I don’t appreciate that she had to be checked multiple times when once should be enough. I also don’t like that Jennifer seemed very standoffish and forceful.
