Dr. Jessica Laine Ellis, MD

Had a visit for shoulder pain. Felt like Dr. Ellis was not interested in what i had to say or in helping to resolve the problem. Needs to make more eye contact instead of staring at computer. This is the first time i have had an unsatisfactory provider at Oregon Medical Group, everyone else has been great.

I was sent to Dr. Ellis by my primary care doctor. Something was (still is) terribly wrong with my knee and I can't walk on it. She BARELY examined my knee and said there was nothing wrong with it. Said there was no swelling (wish I could post pictures!) and that I needed to be walking on that leg and not using crutches. She also said where I said my knee hurt makes no sense, nothing would cause pain like that. She has the WORST bedside marker I've ever experienced! Rude when I asked well what could be hurting. She then informed me that I could have an MRI "But it's a VERY expensive test". And?? That's what my insurance is for. I never asked for any meds, I'm not seeing anyone and I don't have the type of job I call in sick, so I"m not sure what she thought my angle was for my supposed fake injury! Since it was obvious to EVERYONE ELSE that something was wrong, I made an appointment at Slocum. They treated me with kindness and really listed to my description of… where my knee hurt. My results from the MRI show I have a fractured knee and Avascular Necrosis. I hope you read this Dr Ellis..... I'm not sure if you are so tainted by people seeking pain meds that you've become calloused to those that really need your help.....or if you are just really not cut out to be a doctor, but you have definitely failed this time......and reading the other reviews, this isn't the first time. Sad. If you're reading this because you're looking for an orthopedic doctor, I must warn you to keep looking, don't stop here!

Excellent sports medicine doc...treated my son very well, answered all our questions. Very thorough and patient. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

I went to see Dr. Ellis for left shoulder pain. She was very rough with her examination and i dont normally cry out in pain, but I did with her exam and actually teared up. She didnt listen to my symptoms and diagnosed me with mild arthritis and said I was drug seeking when I asked for something for pain. I dd seek an appointment with a specialist fo six months after which i was scheduled for surgery within two weeks due to what was going on in my shoulder which was seen on the exact same MRI as Dr. Ellis had access too and had supposedly reviewed. She is rude and very unprofessional. I would not recommend.

Excellent doctor. Spends plenty of time with you to ensure you know what is going on. Very thorough in diagnosis and treatment. Very good bedside manner.

She doesn't respond to calls regarding complications. She is a specialist but when I had an after hours complication with a procedure she had done her answering service actually told me they'd never heard of her! They said I must've confused a physician's assistant with a doctor. I had to have my complications addressed by my Family Practicioner.She's certainly a competent doctor--but she isn't one to see if you're likely to have complications because she likes things to happen on her timeline.
