Dr. Jessy Jamshed Colah, MD

My wife was until recently a patient of Dr Colah's for many years. Recently she was taken to the ER at NY Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist hospital (where he is a dr) for a mental health emergency. Dr Colah would not return any of my or my wife's phone calls and it was clear he had his receptionist (who also had an attitude) screening his calls-she knew as soon as my wife stated her name who she was and her situation, the receptionist kept making excuses why he couldn't speak to her or return her call (he was busy, not available etc...when I called she said she'd give him my tel# and if he didn't call back then that was all she could do-not care or concern whatsoever. He then decided to drop her as a patient knowing she had no one to prescribe the medication she needs for her mental well being. It's one thing if a Dr is busy and cannot take a phone call. It is entirely a different matter when a doctor decides he cannot be bothered and leaves a patient in need of care to fend for… themselves. This jerk should not even be a Dr, he is entirely unfit and has no professional etiquette whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and find another psychiatrist- trust me you deserve better. He does not listen to patient's need or concerns, his appointments last less then 10 minutes and you wait 3 times that amount of time for him- he never begins appointments on time, and quite frankly if he had prescribed the proper medication to my wife she very well may not have ended up in the ER in the first place.

Awful, he doesn't even listen. Has made multiple mistakes calling in the wrong medications to the pharmacy. Promised to to a diagnostic and then "forgot." Did not return several phone calls when I was having a potential side effect to meds. He churns out his patients like machinery, no personal touch at all.
