totally incompetent

she was on call for the delivery of my first child and it was a disaster. My baby was literally stuck in the birth canal for 4 hours and she then proceeded to tell me that I needed a little "help." Out came the forceps and it was down hill from there. My baby was born with Erb's palsy in her right arm as a result of delivery and I was bruised horribly. The child should have been a C-section after 2 tugs of the forceps. My baby looked like a prize fighter and Dr. Shakarjian NEVER came back to check me. It was her partner in the practice who discharged me from the hospital. The delivery was a literal nightmare and I would NOT recommend her to anyone. I left the practice and another doctor delivered my second baby

Dr. Shakarjian is extremely unprofessional. After waiting an hour 20 minutes, I finally went into the exam room. I was told it would just be a few minutes. An hour later (still undressed), I sat waiting with know one coming in to tell me what was going on. I looked in the hall to see no one. I called out and asked "is anyone going to exam me?" She poked her out (no patients were with her) and just stared at me. She then proceeded to yell at me to stop yelling and get out of the hallway. I told her I just to know what was going on and I had already been waiting over two hours total. Again she snapped at me. I waited another half and left. She is extremely arrogant and did not even have the common sense to have a staff member tell I would be waiting an inordinate amount of time. I wouldn't even give her a rating, but to post I had to.

I have been seeing Dr. Shakarjian for years. She has seen me through 3 pregnancies and 1 miscarriage. She has always been kind and caring and never rushes me at my appointments.

I had the most awful experience with my pregnancy because of Dr. Jo-Ann Shakarijan and she should not be practicing. First, she broke my water without even informing me and worst she put my baby's life in danger by refusing to give me a c-section after there was merconium in my water. She yelled at me that I HAD to try to push even though my baby's head had not dropped and I was not fully dialated. She proceeded to tell me her birth stories how she pushed for hours and so if she could do it I could...when I said no she got so mad telling me I was making a mistake, I was being irrational....meanwhile I ran a fever and she still wanted me to push. She said she would be back at 10pm to do the c-section but decided to go to sleep until 4am and now my baby's heart rate went irregular and I had to get an emergency c-section and guess what...a visiting nurse after for two months because she botched the job. Eight months later I am still not healed and had to go to a wound specialist. This… woman has a chip on her shoulder and serious personal issues which cloud her ability to even perform average. I am telling you do not go to this doctor, she made my experience so awful and endangered my baby's life.

THIS DOCTOR HAS THE WORST REPUTATION AND SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING. SHE HURT ME UPON EXAMINING ME, AND CLEARLY IS A DISASTER. WOULD NOT PUT YOUR HEALTH IN HER HANDS.
