Dr. John Anthony Vaccaro, MD

Excellent care and friendly atmosphere.

Seemed eager and pushed toward doing a procedure/surgery without getting my complete history. Tough to get medications in a timely matter from their office, be sure you get enough medication before your stuck all weekend without any and you have to go to the ER. Nurses/Assistants seemed a little unrofessional.

Went to Vaccaro with BPH symptoms. After multiple office visits of peeing into his graph machine and convincing I had BPH affecting urination he did an in office cystoscopy. Very painful. No imaging what so ever. Next he put me under anesthesia to perform a more comprehensive cystoscopy with possible minor surgery to open urethra at prostate. Upon waking, no report, no doctor (he left), nurses don't know anything. After a couple days call him. He says, oh yeah, you have some weird growth forming a kind of flap at the opening of your bladder. I made some slight incisions in the prostate, and inflated a balloon to try to open the flow. But we need to maybe do something about that flap. No help, no improvement, outrageously poor communications. No, I would not recommend this person.

If you want a doctor that is going to sugarcoat a serious condition, then he is not the doctor for you. But, if you want an educated, honest and up to date treatment plan then he is the doctor you want. Before I made the decision to have prostate surgery I decided to get a second opinion form the leading cancer treatment center in Seattle (which Dr. Vaccaro encouraged me to do). Both Dr. Vaccaro and the treatment center made the same recommendation. After each exam he meet with my wife and I in his office and spent hours explaining my options and treatment plan. He does come across rough on the outside but on the inside he is the most caring and compassionate Doctor you can find. Sometimes the pointed truth is shocking and hurtful, as it was with my condition. The best part is that I'm alive and kicking without serious complications.

It is hard to put into words, but as a female this Dr. made me feel very uncomfortable. He asked personal questions unrelated to my condition, questions that I found inappropriate. I cannot recommend Dr. Vacarro to any of my female family members or friends.

After experience with other doctors I was referred to Dr Vaccaro by another specialist, and I finally am happy with treatment and medical outcome. He is kind, caring and explains everything in an easy to understand way. Would highly recommend him to others

I felt his exam and diagnosis was thorough and treatment was prompt. I enjoy Dr. Vaccaros no nonsense attitude. He was very to the point without being rude or arrogant.

Bedside manor is horrible, comments he makes are inappropriate.

Dr. Vaccaro came highly recommended to me from my primary care physician. He went to Dr. Vaccaro for his surgery and could "truly" give me an experienced recommendation. I was blessed that Dr. Vaccaro told me the facts of what to expect and then expressed true caring for me, even my non-medical issues, after the surgery. He is an absolute blessing in my life.
