Summary
California has been my home since 1984. Prior to that time, I lived in New York City, first in Brooklyn (for medical school at the State University of New York, Downstate) and then in Manhattan (for internship and residency at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Greenwich Village). I did my subspecialty training in neonatology (newborn intensive care) at UCLA. After my training, I was an attending neonatologist there, teaching, doing bedside intensive care, and academic research. Afterwards, two years were spent in a general pediatric practice and providing emergency room and intensive care consultation on critical cases. In 1992, I joined Kaiser Permanente where I continue to do both general pediatrics and neonatology.
