Dr. John Isaac Delgado, MD

My initial appointment at Dr. Delgado’s office was on May 12. I met Claudia Fuentes APRN; I never met with Dr. Delgado, or spoke with him. I was scheduled that day to have my colonoscopy at Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center, but was not given a time to arrive. I was told that the office would call me one week before my procedure to notify me of my arrival time and that they had called in my prep medication to my pharmacy. It was requested of me to get some pre-procedure labs done. I got a call a week later asking why I had not completed my labs yet. As noted above, there was a seven-week time frame between my initial appointment and my procedure date. I explained that I worked fulltime and was planning on getting my labs drawn the following week. I asked at this time if they had an arrival time for me on the date of the colonoscopy. They stated they did not have an arrival time yet, and that my prep medication had already been called into my pharmacy on the day of my initial appointment. I… was also told at this time that I needed to go to Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center 6 business days prior to my procedure for a drive-by COVID test. I went to Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center 6 days before my procedure as requested, but there was no one in the parking lot doing testing. I called the center from the parking lot and was told that they were no longer doing COVID testing before procedures and that my doctor’s office should have called to inform me. I called Dr. Delgado’s office and informed them of this situation. They stated they did not know that COVID testing had been canceled. The week before my procedure, I still did not have an arrival time at Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center. I called the office several times that week and was unable to get an appointment time. Four days before the procedure, I called again and was told that someone would call me by the end of the business day to give me an arrival time. No one called. I called back the next day and was told that someone had called the previous day and left a voice message for me. I had no missed call, nor a voice message from the office. I was told during this call that I should arrive at Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center for 11 am. I arrived at Tampa Bay Endoscopy Center at 1041 and checked in successfully for my 11 am appointment. I was brought back to the pre-op area immediately, changed into a gown, had my IV started, and had an interview with the anesthesiologist. I did not get transported to the procedure room until 215 pm. I am the patient, you are on my time, and being this late is unacceptable. Dr. Delgado was in the room but did not acknowledge that I was there. When he did come over to me, he never introduced himself or asked why I was there. All he said to me was “are you ready for this, let’s dim the light give you your anesthesia and, in a few minutes, you will be on the air.” As a tech was giving my anesthesia, I heard behind me Dr. Delgado and a nurse verbalizing a hard stop reviewing my name and what procedure I was having. They did not review this information with me, nor did they check my armband. And then I was out. Everything went okay. I woke up in recovery and a nurse, not Dr. Delgado, reviewed my results with me and sent me home with discharge instructions. My concerns are that I had to continually follow up with the office to get answers and appointment times and that Dr. Delgado’s bedside manner and time management were unacceptable and professionally ignorant.

Dr. Delgado has treated my wife for several years. He has the best bed side manner of any Dr. I've seen he will go out of his way to just talk to he has been in the office and just talked to my wife for over an hour. I don't know of any other Dr. that takes that much time out of his own time

Doctor Delgado and his staff only cares about getting money from insurance companies, they don’t really care about theirs patients

I have been patients for about 7mos had many appointments. When I go to my appointment, I expect to see him, instead I see his PA as so everyone else just about. I'm lucky if I saw him twice at his office. One thing for sure, he set himself up to have a real nice racket at his office. On your initial visit, his PA (which is not a doctor) book you for surgery without you even speaking to or having been diagnose by the doctor for the surgical procedure. The PA call herself examining you, she mashes here and there, next thing you know, you off to the surgical center, where he await you to put you under, without diagnosing you at all for the procedure he's about to perform. And I notice for them, its routine, This doctor should be investigated for sure. Also the way the office is run, is ridiculous, when you call you can rarely get anyone, so many times I have left messages, because I needed medication, and other matter that required the doctor assistance. Weeks has gone by before… I've gotten response or a call back. The patient care that this doctor and his office staff provide is ridiculous, absurd, and shameful. I even spoke to him personally regarding these issues, besides giving me a bunch of excuses, he didn't seem to care. I finally got fed up, when he improperly treated me for H-PYLORI and I according to medical science, his method, was improper. He was supposed treat me with two or more antibiotics and anti-acid at the same time, he only gave me one antibiotic and anti acid. After taking all the med's that he prescribe, the problem still exist. I told that him, that I still had the same effects from the H-PYLORI ,that I experience before starting the meds. He told me that, I no longer have H-PYLORI and these pains and discomfort, he cant' explain, I'm going to have to live with them. I immediately went and found another doctor and he confirm the fact, that I still have this H-PYLORI. This bacteria if left untreated will turn into cancer. DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR WITH HEALTH CARE

I waited two months to have a consultation. The Dr nor any physician assistant available was told to come back in four hours. No thanks

The office calls me the day before to reschedule my 1st appointment due to the provider no longer being available. So I had to reschedule 2 weeks later. When I arrived to my 2nd appointment the office staff advised me that there was no provider there and I would have to make another appointment. She wa adamant that she called me the day before and left a message, however there were no calls or message in my cell history. I wish I could advise on the quality of the doctor, but his inability to keep a schedule prevents me from doing so.

Dr Delgado performed several tests and did ok. I wanted to follow up to discuss the results but it's difficult to get an appointment. When I got an appointment, I arrived early but had to sit in the waiting room for over 2 1/2 hours before seeing anyone. The office is run very poorly and the staff is sub par.

Dr. Delgado is very highly trained in his practice. I could not eat or drink and called him on the spur of the moment. He returned my call at home within an hour. I was admitted to the hospital and he stopped by to seem me before the surgery. The surgery was done the next day. His skills were second to none. I research every doctor and this one was very considerate as well as highly trained. He even did the surgery on Labor day. His staff was exceptional as well. I am fully recovered and can eat and drink again, no complications. I seldom write reviews but there are many doctors in the area. He is exceptional!

John Isaac Delgado, MD has questionable medical practices. I had an awful experience under his team’s care, which included a hospitalization and excessive treatment with heavy medications without a proper diagnosis.

I have called four days in a row to make an appt. for endoscopy and colonoscopy. Never heard back. This is very unprofessional.
