I had 1 upper extrmity surgery already performed. Years later another issue in same area. Within several months Dr. Elfar was telling pts he was leaving the U of R and either told pts no surgery, find another Dr or wanted to close out compensation cases, when medical care was needed. I'm very dissatisfied that a Dr. would do this to his pts just to to better his career. Kudos! But I'm glad I stuck to my gut bunch as I had more than 1 issue in my upper extremity and found a fabulous surgeon to repair what apparently was a closed file.

As a Rochesterian, I consider Rochester to be fortunate enough to have such a compassionate knowledgeable Dr. such as Dr. Elfar. I recommend Dr. Elfar to all who have hand arm shoulder issues before they commit to other Dr.s in Rochester N.Y.

His surgical skills are the best but follow-ups tend to be with his PA who is knowledgeable also

I think that Dr. Elfar is young and full of surgical skill. He also has a good quality of being forthright even when it is awkward. Many doctors want to please us by telling us what we want to hear all the time. It makes it hard for a patient to figure out the real expectations to have. Dr. Elfar builds trust with a straight forward and open demeanor. I don't think anyone should see a surgeon unless they want surgery, but if I ever do, I will see Dr. Elfar

I am so happy I had surgery with Dr. Elfar. He is the only person I would have do surgery. I work in a hospital and it is no wonder why the doctors and nurses see Dr. Elfar when they actually need surgery on themselves.

Dr. Elfar is a genius pure and simple. I had a badly broken finger. Without his surgical expertise I'm not sure how things would have ended up. Because of him I made an excellent recovery. He is the best!

Dr Alfar is the best surgeon I know,he had done surgery on my sons right elbow,its worth the hour drive,he makes you feel like your family to him and also is good at what he does

Dr. Elfar is an honest,caring and brilliant surgeon. If you do as he suggests before and after surgery you will hey the results you hope for. I have complete use of my shoulder....he's amazing.
