Dr. John Harold Smith, MD

My son was referred to Dr. Smith for crohns disease after having to graduate from a local pediatric practice due to his age of 20. We met with Dr. Smith and he had labs drawn and his annual chest x ray was order to check for TB. This is done due to him being immune suppressed. Few days later I received a letter that all his lab work was normal and his chest ray was clear. Well I wondered how could it be normal when we had never had chest xray done. I called and had his lab work sent to me . His Sed rate and CRP. Was extremely elevated. That is why my son was having pain. Being a nurse has helped tremendously with my son having a vicious disease as Crohns. I go to doctors to help me, not to have to recheck behind such things as labs. Be careful look over all your care.

I recently moved to area. long time crohn's patient, having already had one surgery. I was recommended to Dr Smith by my PCP. Dr smith got all my records, and fully reviewed them before he scheduled a office visit. at this visit, he suggested I needed to go to Mayo clinic as my disease was far too advanced and he needed their opinion. I ended with another surgery at Mayo, but Dr smith has kept in contact with them on my care and works closely on testng and medicines. he has been great
