He completely disregarded any pain I had by telling me "well it shouldn't hurt" when asked to see his supervisor he just walked away from me and sent me to his secretary who was lovely by the way. But Dr O'Donnell really needs help with bedside manners and not putting his own pain tolerance onto other people

Both my mother & I were treated by Dr O’Donnell..her for a fractured hip & me for a really badly fractured ankle..couldn’t ask for a kinder, more caring doctor..I will always recommend Dr O’Donnell!

I am absolutely stunned by these negative reviews! My 90yo grandmother has had surgery performed by Dr. O'Donnell twice now (at Mercy). He has corrected a broken femur bone and inserted a rod; as well as corrected a broken hip with an articulating screw. He was informative, extremely kind and sweet to her and all around great. I met with him after both surgeries and he explained and concerns, how it went and answered any questions I had. Her Femur was the first thing he operated on, she was up and walking in less than two weeks and recovered fully with no pain. Recently, she broke her hip - she had surgery the next day after going to Mercy Hospital. In three days she was heading to rehab and was walking in four. Her follow up appointments at his office were efficient with no long waits. I highly recommend Dr. O'Donnell - he is an excellent surgeon.

Terrible uncomfortable and very weird

That's the problem with MD's. They only treat the ailement. No care for the PATIENT. DO's, Doctors of Osteopathic medicine, treat the whole patient. They take the time to actually see how you are doing. Different philosophy's of medicine. When DO's graduate from school they can take the DO exam and the MD exam. When MD's graduate from medical school, they can only take the MD exam. MD's can only give you a prescription or operate. DO's can do both and they are trained in chiropractic as well. So they can give prescriptions, operate and do adjustments!!!! I only go to DO's unless it is an emergency, and I've been very happy with my medical care ever since I switched.

If you live around Buffalo and ever break you ankle, foot, leg- DO NOT go to see Dr O'Donnell. There are better surgeons around the area. His bedside manner is atrocious, he doesn't give you all the information about your condition, won't let you see xrays (1st his secretary told me I could $5 per copy. then the DR told me they don't give out copies, even after you sign a release) The waiting room is beautiful, however once in the back, the waiting beds are not very clean (paint splotches, and they DO NOT clean them before or after patients, dirty finger prints on the cupboard doors and counters where the gauze is located) and on the waiting bed where i was, there were pieces of a broken cast from the patient before me. and I was there to get staples removed and I got nervous I would get an infection from the dirty table I was sitting on =/But, if you just want to go see a doctor quick- the wait time is only 15-30 minutes, including waiting in the patient rooms- possibly due to no one… wants to see him lol and nurses on his staff are very very very nice and pleasant to talk to- they try to help as much as they can.
