Meet Dr. J. Michael Leary, MD, FACEP
Dr. Leary provides non-surgical treatment for the full spectrum of vein disease from large, painful, bulging varicose veins, or venous ulcers, to minor cosmetic spider veins.
He has successfully treated thousands of patients over the past 20 years in Newport Beach utilizing the latest technology and is continually setting the highest standards in vein care, providing non-invasive procedures that allow the patient to return to everyday activities immediately. Having performed over 8,000 Endovenous Ablations, you can be confident that Dr. Leary has the experience to treat a variety of vein conditions.
Dr. Leary has been recognized as a leading Orange County vein specialist for his skill in performing endovenous laser procedures for varicose veins. Dr. Leary provides vein treatment for many physicians and is even known to be the vein …doctor of choice of Orange County physicians.
With his experience and expertise he is the preferred vein specialist for many doctors, leg models, celebrities and professional athletes in Southern California. He believes developing a relationship with his patients is the best way to deliver high quality care. He personalizes each treatment to the individual patient and works closely with other medical specialists to ensure seamless, high quality care.
Many of his patients report an immediate improvement of the pain in their legs. Dr. Leary prides himself in restoring his patients’ legs to a vein free appearance.

Dr. Leary has received extensive postgraduate training in Venous Disease, and has been appointed as a national physician training center for the company that introduced endovenous laser treatment for varicose veins. “Choose the doctor that trains the other doctors.”
Dr. Leary has been certified in venous and lymphatic medicine by the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.
He passed the most comprehensive examination of knowledge in venous disease available today. Dr. Leary also has had a successful career in a level 1 trauma center with a faculty appointment at the University of Virginia in 1989. He practiced Emergency Medicine at the prestigious Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California from 1991 until founding California Vein Specialists in 2002.
