Dr. Pittman really knows his stuff and is willing to help and point you in the proper direction when it comes to your health.
After Dr Pittmen diagnosed that I have Type 2 Diabetes he called every morning & every night for 2wks to see what my glucose levels were. I've never had a doctor call me at home ever. He is kind and caring He explains everything. His office staff up front know me by my name & they are professional & friendly. Sometimes the wait in the reception is long but I think it's because he has a very busy practice.
Very good family dentist. Nice staff.
Dr. Pittman is so wonderful! He is absolutely the best Doctor in the city. All the years I went to him, his staff was incompetent and rude.
I have been going to Dr. Pittman for years. He is the only doctor I know that knows who I am, knows my mother-in-law and also has her as a patient and a asked about my children whom he use to treat as children. He always explains things to me completely and is very friendly. I have and continue to recommend him to family and friends.
I am a firm believer in Dr. Pittman! He is a great doc and and enjoyable person. He does have a busy practice but that is to be expected for a 20 year practice. He still finds time to listen and diagnose each problem I present. I have been his patient for over 3 years and will remain a patient as long as he continues to practice medicine.
This man is a genius!! He runs actual test to tell you what wrong instead of guessing,
He was kind and listened to my concerns. He encouraged me and gave me hope that I could feel better. I started feeling better after the first visit and continue to improve
Dr Pittman is very kind and caring doctor. He is very friendly and takes my health very serious. He takes time to talk to me as long as needed. The only negative thing about my whole experience with him, is that he is so attentive that when seeing him, I can expect at least 2 hrs with him.
I have seen Dr. Pittman for some time. I believe him to be a very intelligent person and in many respects an excellent doctor. However, he is too busy and there are real problems with his staff, for which he must take responsibility. However, he does not appear willing to do so. In attempting to get a refill for a routine prescription I have taken for years, I had the refill request denied. When I talked with the refill nurse I was told I could not get a refill on my prescription if I was "not coming in for my appointments." I have seen Dr. Pittman regularly every few months, had seen him only two months previously and had lab work relative to the very presciption I was requesting a refill on! I was repeatedly told that I had "no showed" for an appointment that I had in fact cancelled while waiting for the results of some other medical testing I had had done, in line with Dr. Pittman's own request. I myself had called Dr. Pittman's office the day before to see if he wanted me to have some additional bloodwork done. I explained this repeatedly . Yet, I was as much as told that I am a liar, don't know what I am talking about, and am non-compliant. The record clearly shows that that is not the case. A consultation with Dr. Pittman or his nurse would also have resolved the issue. However, this did not happen. I am not willing to go through a fight, be called a liar, and take three days when I need prescription refills. I do have other options. When I spoke with Dr. Pittman directly about this, he acknowledged mistakes had been made and apologized, which I did appreciate. However, in the end he made excuses for the staff and said nothing could be done to correct the situation. He blamed the system and seemed to feel that he is as much a victim of it as anyone. He is the one who is, or should be, in charge of his practice and it is up to him to ensure that his patients are not treated inappropriately and that they are able to get their needed medications. Communication between his staff and Dr. Pittman appears to be a real problem. If his staff do not have the time or training to adequately respond to patients' needs in a courteous and thoughtful manner, something is wrong with the way his practice is structured, and he does have control of that. Perhaps he needs to limit the number of patients he sees, give his staff better training, and instruct them to consult with him. Since this is not going to happen, I regrettably have had to find a new physician, where I do not anticipate such problems.
I see Dr. Pittman as a great doctor. I dont have a negative thing to say about him. He has been my doctor for years. He is nice and kind. Its great to have a Doctor who cares. If there is someone who says diffrent they are wrong.
I have been a patient of Dr. Pittman's for over 20 years. I can say without reservation that he is one of the most caring and committed physicians that I have ever had the opportunity of meeting. Dr. Pittman is a good Christian man and serves the community is various ways such as helping at the free clinic, food bank and soup kitchens. He also uses his two week vacation to travel to Uganda to care for the impoverished. Anyone that thinks that he is in business to simply "make money" is sadly mistaken. Again, I give this amazing doctor 4 stars!
Dr. Pittman is the most knowledgable family practice doctor I know. He diagnosed me with fibromyalgia many years ago and has helped me find medications that will help with the symptoms. He is always current on new medications and new applications for "older/know" mendications. Dr. Pittman is a jewel - very caring - his PA's are also excellent!!
This Dr oversteps his bounds and over prescribes medications, especially medications dealing with depression anxiety ADHD etc. He is irresponsible and dangerous. He also unneccesarily alarms patients and their families by ordering and performing tests to pad his pocketbook. He never quite takes care of a simple problem like a wart on my daughters thumb. We went back 6 times before and still didn't have the wart gone. It shouldn't require that many visits and over $1000 to remove a wart. He recently had my poor husband worried because he supposedly had an enlarged liver, kidney and was told it was important he had a stress test etc. I didn't worry because I know what he's doing. My husband is perfectly healthy. I don't know how this man sleeps at night!
Very funny- cracking jokes through 4 hour visit. Did all tests needed to get accurate picture of situation. Wish all drs were like this.
Dr. Pittman has been my family's physican for several years. He is a kind and empathetic doctor that has always treated me, my family and several of my frieds with respect and has always been "right on" with his diagnoses and treatment plan. I am so blessed to have found a physician that cares so much for all of his patients.
He saw both my children for all of 20 min and prescribed 7 psychiatric medicines between them. He was rude, arrogant, and egotistical. This man is dangerous with a prescription pad!!!
Yeah, there's alot of questions to answer for every appt. Yeah, you have to see him pretty often initially; but once you are feeling better .... and I feel fabulous again ....you just see him when you need to.
Just as another person posted...I would be dead if I had taken all the drugs he prescribed. I ended up in the hospital twice because of something he prescribed. He is good at diagnosing, but he doesnt listen. He believes he knows your body better than you do. I was a patient for almost 20 years and all of a sudden he changed into a money hungry physician that would not listen or care and would prescribe to you any and everything that came on the market. And don't tell him you have a reaction to the drug! He will tell you it can't bother you, 80 year olds take it and don't have a problem...Run I tell you!
Dr. Pittman does come off as arrogant and somewhat of a quack. He Loves the pharmaceutical industry (if I took everything he prescribed, I'd probably be dead)! His staff walks on eggshells around him due to his edginess. He's in and out in a NY minute, which causes you to wonder if he really understands what is wrong with you. Seriously, money drives the man and you will be booked for another appointment, for no good reason. If you do dare to schedule one, do call way in advance to cancel and get the person's name, as they will charge you anyway. If you're just wanting drugs, choose Dr. Pittman.
This is a one rating because there is no zero option to choose regarding his staff. I have been a patient of Dr. Pittman for 20 years. I like him as a doctor but today was the last straw. I took my 8 year old son to him to test for ADHD. I arrived at 9:50 for our 10:00 appointment. The staff gave me a lot of paperwork to fill out which took about 30 minutes and I turned in all that they gave me about 10:20 a.m. At 11:00 am my son and I were still in the waiting room so I asked about how long we would have to continue to wait. They then handed me more paperwork to fill out and stated I had not been seen because I did not complete the paperwork yet. What? I rapidly completed the 2 new pages of paperwork they gave me and about 10 minutes later, the nurse took us back to a waiting room, where I filled out more paperwork and waited for another 1 hour. My 8 year old son was tired, hungry and cranky and so was I. I also had a job to get back to by 1:00 p.m. so at noon, with no doctor in sight and no nurse coming back to tell me what was going on, I went back to the front desk and complained. The nurse then told me he had other patients in front of me and that he would get to me when he gets to me. I decided to leave instead. Thinking it was the staff, my husband called Dr. Pittman to complain. Dr. Pittman himself told my husband it was my fault my son did not get seen because the paperwork was not filled out and turned in by my appointment time of 10:00 a.m. WHAT? The paperwork that I never got until I complained about the hour wait. It is clear to me that his staff lied to cover themselves for not paying attention. Anyway, Dr. Pittman was rude, arrogant and non-appologetic for making an 8 year old boy wait for 2 hours without seeing him. He has a sign that states if you are 20 minutes late to your appointment, you will be asked to reschedule. I was never asked to reschedule until I told them I was leaving at noon. Dr. Pittman is a good doctor. However, what good is a doctor if you can't get access to him and he does not care about your schedule. Doctors are service providers and I got terrible service from this doctor.
Dr. Pittman runs expereimental tests that the insurance will not pay for. While he is a general practice physician he charges nearly $400 a visit.
My 16 year old daughter was referred to Dr. Pittman for her bipolar disorder. He was very rude to my daughter and made her cry. He said some awful things to her. I was shocked at how unprofessional he was. I will never go back and feel bad for other teenagers who see him. He is just flat out mean and arrogant.
Dr. Pittman caught long-standing problems our other doctors had missed. He has been aggressive about getting and keeping them under control. My family have some unusual and difficult health issues that he has managed beautifully. We drive 1-hour (one-way) past many other doctors' offices in order to use him as our primary-care physician, though it is very inconvenient--and expensive gas-wise--at times. Numerous specialists have commented on how well he has managed our conditions, and how fortunate we are to have him caring for us!
One of the best ways of choosing a good Doctor is to find one who at least will listen to your problems. This Doctor did all the talking when I went to see him. He was extremely assertive and hardly let me get a word in but he was quick to let me know he had 25 years experience when I never ask for it. He has a severe case of Egocentric behavior. AVOID him at all cost. RUN!
