Dr. John Xiao-Jiang Qian, MD

I had concerns about one of my medications and was told it isn’t their responsibility

Office staff is constantly changing and always rude. Takes a long time to see the doctor (sometimes hours) regardless of what your appointment time is. Doctor and staff show no concern or compassion for their patients.

My fiancé has been going to see Dr Qian for about 6 months. He should be Dr. Quack!!! First time he did a procedure on my fiancé he DID NOT wash his hand. He used gloves as a turnikit to put in an IV. He went back and forward from a computer in a hallway and never washing his hands. He was unaware of my fiancé being a diabetic, which these procedures cause his sugar to increase greatly. This Dr. is going to hurt someone. He doesn’t know anything about the patient, but practice medicine on them. THIS IS SCARY!! He has now had 2 procedures and no relief. Dr. Qian keeps requesting these expensive produces knowing they don’t work. I feel he is milking the system and profiting from procedures that aren’t necessary. He is not looking out for patient care, it’s all about $$$$$! Today, he had another appointment. We told the PA that these procedures don’t work and he is waiting on an upcoming appointment for a surgeon. She still wanted to push for procedures that don’t work.… And if you don’t agree, she called me and my fiancé rude. We have dealt with her couple other times and she is always rude and short with us. Looks like it wasn’t his primary requesting all these procedure, it’s Dr. Qian. This is a crowded and dirty office. And the Dr. is dirty and unsafe. Please beware. There are so many other choices in San Diego. Also we will be reporting to Medical and the Medical review board. Recently this Dr. Qian has been also rebranding himself to Sage Pain Management. This is because his other 3 offices had such bad reviews. Trying to rebrand himself. But looks like same bad practices with a different name. Dr. Qian is also very hard to understand and when you ask to repeat he just mumbles. I feel communication and cleanliness should be a requirement when being a healthcare provider. We have even brought these things up to the staff and they just say “sorry”. Not much they can do, it’s their job.

Be wary of this doctor. I have never been treated with such disrespect and dishonor. They made some big errors that cost me money that I cannot afford and in addition filed claims that further hurt me. Instead of admitting their errors and ensuring I would not incur charges or claims, they treated me like garbage, even to the point that one of their PAs acted like the victim when she was victimizing me. Thankfully the CA Medical Board is being very helpful.

This Doctor's staff is the worst! Every time I go in there (which is 1x mo) the entire staff has changed. They treat their patients very rude! I have seen 6 different providers this year alone, because he can't keep doctor's for some reason. He used to have a great physican's assistant, but she left at the beg of the year and it's been horrible ever since. I know this isn't just me, due to the fact that every patient that sits in the lobby waiting for their appt has had something negative to say. I need a new doctor. Don't go to this one.

He neglected to replace the pain pump in a timely manner resulting in severe drug withdrawal and hospitalization!!!

Dr. Qian is a great doctor who listens intently to my problems and helps tremendously with his advice and treatment options. I have cancer issues and also am dealing with side effects of the treatments and Dr.Qian and his staff have helped me overcome serious obstacles that previously affected my work and quality of life. The office staff are also very helpful and happy to answer my questions and scheduling. I highly recommend this clinic.

I left a very bad Pain Doctor, and was Blessed with Dr. Quian. He cares about you and will listen to you. Has a Great bedside manner. Jessica is the Best, she helps you when you need it. He has so many New people on his Staff, but they all are very Nice! I get upset when people go in just to get drugs! I need them to be able to have a life with less pain. It is those few that are causing the one's that need the pain meds not to get them! I feel he and his staff do a Great Job of weeding out the one's that are really not in PAIN! Dr. Quian is the Best at giving shots, I trust him with my back and neck injections. He takes his time and does it and most of the time I did not know he was done. My last pain Doctor would hurt me so bad, I would be in bed for day's. Being on Pain Meds you CAN NOT let PEOPLE KNOW! I like that he has a Policy of not allowing people in the waiting room not to talk about their meds. I would say Dr. Quian is the Best in San Diego.

Initial impression was confusing as he asked many personal questions that had nothing to do with my medical condition, but was possibly prying me for business advice. From a medical perspective, he spent very little time with me on initial meeting (~5 minutes) took no notes and walked out of the room leaving me confused when he had in fact ended the meeting without saying such. On next visit, he attempted to give me recommendations for treatment that absolutely did not make sense and when I questioned it, he realized he was talking about another person. His patient rooms were filthy and cluttered, but then his lobby and office has the same impression. I had to call the office, after two weeks they had not submitted paperwork for insurance, even though I had expressed it was urgent. The office staff seems very unorganized and never calls to remind patients of appointments, nor do they return calls. While listed for accepting workmans comp patients, the doctor & staff fails to meet… criteria for workmans comp, nor will they return calls when workmans comp calls, thus I was continually turned down for recommendations made to workmans comp. I can not recommend Dr. John Qian to anyone, under any circumstances. Very disappointed and total waste of time.

I have been to several Pain Management Drs. and Dr. Qain is definatly the one I have had the best luck with. He's more concerned with getting good results rather than just prescribing medications. I've been going to him for years now and have no desire to look for anyone else.
