I did not trust this so called doctor!!!

I am currently not his Patient. Thank God!!!

This guy is like a TV version of a bad doctor. Everything about him is poor quality. From his office phone ringing and him taking calls while in session to his lack of ability to diagnose and treat the most basic of issues. Don't waste your time here. He doesn't value his clients time or emotional health. That is his ONLY job. As you can clearly read in the reviews he isn't doing it well.

I seen Dr. Allen for about 5 visits now and I will not be going back. I have A.D.D., Insomnia, Depression and Anxiety. He prescribed FOUR medications and NONE of them helped and THREE of them had bad side effects. I asked for a certain medication that I've taken off and on for years (I go off to give myself a break because I believe my body becomes resistant to it after awhile, like most medications). He didn't want to prescribe it. BUT, he is suggested a medication that is for PARANOIA. All because I told him that I don't really like people or to be around people and I don't trust anyone. It's called not being a people person. I'll even accept the title anti-social, but PARANOIA!!! He says this knowing that I've explained to him that I've been through a LOT of crap and I feel that way about people because of my experiences. No other doctor or psychiatrist has ever told me that they think I have PARANOIA. As you can see I'm really offended. I feel like he must have not been… listening to anything I had told him during my appointments. So now I'm on One medication that is mainly for body pain and ailments (which has not helped with not even one of the various pains, but at least it doesn't have side effects) and he tells me that he can't think of anything else to prescribe for me, but he thought of a medication for PARANOIA. Also, good luck getting through when you call. The phone is almost never answered and calls are barely returned when you leave a message. I seen him at his El Cajon location at 225 W. Madison Ave.

Dr Allen is an awful psychiatrist .He misdiagnosed me! Had me on 8 different meds. Did not listen to me when I told him side effects of medicine he prescribed. His bedside manner is awful. Also had a severe allergic reaction to one of the meds and instead of talking to him about what I should do had to talk with his receptionist.This guy has no compassion at all .I don't know how he sleeps at night. My advice get a new psychiatrist I did and feel so much healthier.

He does not listen to his patients. He decided my treatment and executed it just like he wanted with NO collaboration with me as the patient. He would not listen to my input and when I asked questions, he only partially answered them. I would NOT recommend Dr. Allen for anyone .... Not even my worst enemy!!!!! :-/
