Great doctor straight shooter

I am 55. I was short of breath for the last 6 months. My cardiologist told me my valve was leaking and I needed to have surgery to fix it. I went to Dr. Hoffberger because he is an expert at repairing mitral valves. Most people have valves replaced but he explained that it was better in the long run if the valve could be repaired. He was able to fix my valve through a 3 inch incision on the side of my chest. I Was back to new in 4 weeks. No more shortness of breath!

My cardiologist has been following my aortic valve stenosis for several years. It finally became blocked enough to warrant surgery. I was not a candidate for TAVR since I was too healthy. My doctor sent me to another surgeon who recommended aortic valve replacement through a large middle incision. I did my homework and found out that Dr. Hoffberger can do the same operation through a 3 inch incision on the side of my chest instead of a 12 inch incision in the middle. The surgery and hospitalization went flawlessly and I was home in 4 days. I was mostly recovered within 3 weeks. The moral of the story is go online and do your homework. Thank you Dr. Hoffberger

My husband needed to have his aortic valve replaced a little more than a month ago and having Dr. Hoffberger as his Doctor made all the difference. He and his staff are GREAT. You really feel you are with a group of people who knows their stuff. Everyone was very helpful in every way. Answered all my questions and helped us understand what was going to go on. Dr. Hoffberger is an excellent surgeon. I could not be happier with the results of my surgery. he has been very caring and concerned since I was discharged from the hospital. he is very professional but shows the compassion that a doctor should. he takes the time with you and doesn't rush thru your appointment and answers everything I feel to the best of his knowledge. Dr. Hoffberger repaired my mitral valve with minimally invasive surgery. He and his staff could not have been better. I am out and about three weeks after surgery with no pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Hoffberger. His professional skill and personal attentiveness were outstanding.

I started to have significant loss of breath when walking even short distances. This was a big change for me as I previously exercised regularly. I'm an active 65 year old non-smoker, no family history of heart disease. I experienced only mild symptoms of what I and my GP suspected might be heart related. A stress test revealed coronary artery blockage, thought to be moderate. Scheduled for stent procedure my cardiologist determined that the blockage was too extensive and full cardiac arterial bypass surgery was needed. On short notice and with no research on my part I was introduced to Dr Hoffberger by my cardiologist right in the OR recovery room. He adjusted his scheduled to accommodate my need and 2 days later performed a quadruple by-pass. Now 3 weeks post surgery I am recovering with virtually no pain, only minor discomfort and hitting all my milestones with ease. I attribute this to Dr Hoffberger's skill as a surgeon and competent and professional post operation care by the nurses and staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr Hoffberger. Recently performed triple bypass surgery on me and it went extremely well. He was knowledgeable kind and filled with confidence. I trust my heart with him.
