Dr. Bederson has operated on me twice, both experinces just wonderful. He really is a master of his craft. And his amazing support staff are unmatched in their professionalism. If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position to need the services of a neurosurgeon, I can assure you, you'll be in good hands.

I have only the best to say about my experience with Dr. Bederson. He was extremely caring, attentive and an absolute professional.

Having a brain tumor is extremely scary and unsettling unless you are fortunate enough to have Dr Bederson be your surgeon. I interviewed 4 surgeons from different hospitals and it wasn’t until I met Dr Bederson and his amazing PA Leslie that I could breathe. They took a lot of time to educate me using technology and help me understand what was going on and how he could heal me. It is rare in life to meet an extraordinary human being that devotes all of their talents to helping other people. It is even more rare to meet two people in the same place that are extraordinary. Dr. Bederson and his physician’s assistant, Leslie Schlachter, are extraordinary human beings who form a team that guides you through the process of having, in my case, a craniotomy to remove a tumor on the right side of my brain. I am completely indebted to them for their skill, understanding, and honestly, love, throughout the entire process. Leslie helped me to see my situation with the aid of extraordinary 3-dimensional technology and explained what needed to happen. She talked me down when I was feeling low and overwhelmed, and ultimately got me ready for my operation. Dr. Bederson is a humble, but incredibly skilled surgeon that I would trust with my entire family. His passion and compassion are immediately evident. From the moment I met Dr. Bederson I realized he is the kind of rare… and brilliant human being you might have the privilege of meeting in your lifetime, and to be treated by him is the chance of a lifetime. Clearly Dr. Bederson’s leadership sets a high standard of care for his team of residents, who demonstrated a similar level of commitment and compassion to my condition and recovery. I also found the care at the hospital to be incredible and humbling at every level. From my nurses in the ICU, who cared for me when I couldn’t care for myself, to the nurses on the neurology floor when I was beginning my slow recovery, to the nurses in the acute physical therapy floor who kept my spirits up, everyone made me feel comfortable and looked after. The physical and occupational therapists motivated me to get back on my feet and walk again. They helped me understand and implement strategies to stay safe while I recovered. I was humbled by the deep level of connection I made with so many people who cared for me, the experience was life changing.

Hearing the words brain tumor from the neuro-ophthalmologist was frightening to say the least and he advised his strong recommendation to contact Dr. Bederson to perform the surgery. I was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma which could be surgically removed by operating through my nose. My initial conference with Dr. Bederson and his team was most informative. First his PA Leslie Schlachter and Surgical Coordinator Rima Moreno spent quite a bit of time helping me understand the location and procedure to remove the adenoma. They were most informative and thorough using graphics, video and model to help me better understand what I should expect with much detail. When I met Dr. Bederson he was reassuring and helped in relieving much of my anxiety. After the operation, informative updates and my recovery condition were reported to me often and in a caring, reassuring manner. My experience with Dr. Bederson and his team was terrific from the onset through my recovery including the… doctor, surgical staff and administrative staff. They all helped coordinate pre-op appointments, post op appointments, etc. I am happy to say the operation went well and the bedside manner of the whole team could not have been better. There are not enough words to describe the outstanding experience I had with Dr. Bederson, his Physician Assistant, Leslie Schlachter and his office staff. A truly amazing Doctor is very hard to find. At my initial appointment, Dr. Bederson and Leslie addressed all my concerns and questions and walked me through the entire process. Leslie also called my daughter, who is a Nurse Practitioner and explained everything to her. I was diagnosed with Meningeal Neoplasm and my surgery was scheduled within a few weeks of my first appointment. The surgery went very well and thank goodness it was benign. Thank you Dr. Bederson and Leslie for saving my life. I was so fortunate to have you on my medical team. The care and compassion I received was beyond words.

There are not enough stars to rate Dr. Bederson, Dr. Schlachter and their team. My father performed an MRI due to complaints of blurry, double vision and dizziness and a diagnosed clival brain tumor. We contacted Dr. Bederson, Dr. Schlachter and they immediately scheduled an appointment to evaluate the case. The attention we received from them was superb. We went to the surgery within a month. The surgery was successful beyond our expectations because Dr. Bederson is simply the best neurosurgeon there is. Besides being the best neurosurgeon, what makes him and his team great is the time and the attention they give to every patient, alleviating the worry that these types of diagnoses induce and being with the patient every step of the way – from referrals/clearances from other specialists ( one from an ophthalmologist specializing in the optic nerve beside the usual ones from PCPs and cardiologists) – to recovery. As a family, we are forever grateful to Dr. Bederson, Dr. Schlachter… and the entire team. Not only we recommend them to people we know but we talk about them every time a medical and/or doctor topic comes up.

OMG, Dr. Bederson is AMAZING. Leslie is AMAZING. I Was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November 2023. I was referred to Dr. Bederson and Leslie. When i tell you i feel so much better, trust and believe me, Leslie and Dr. B. Took great care of me. He is an outstanding surgeon. I felt so good going into surgery. Leslis supported me through all my pre surgery stuff to prepare me for surgery. She is Great!!! Dr.Bederson did my surgery and i came out with greatness. I barely have any scars. They both consulted me before and after surgery on the process and what to expect. Everything they said was to the point. They followed up with me even when i went home. Dr. Bederson's procedure changed my life.
