Karen Balzanto, MD

In December of 2001, our son Zachary was only 10 months old. We thought he had the flu. We went to our Doctor who told us to immediately take him to the hospital. It turns out that Zachary's blood glucose was 618! Dr Balzanto not only treated Zachary until he was stable and able to be transferred to Hope Childrens Hospital; she also provided my wife and I with much needed comfort and reassurance! It turns out that I worked with her brother Frank years ago. Zachary is now 10 years old and is managing living with diabetes as best as he can. He has many friends and got "straight A's" last year in school.
