Summary
Dr. Kartheiser grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and received her B.S. degree from the College of Saint Benedict. After graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, she completed her pediatric residency training at the University of North Carolina. During her training she received awards for excellence in general pediatrics and as the outstanding pediatric resident at Wake Medical Center. Dr. Kartheiser joined Raleigh Pediatric Associates, P.A. in July, 1989. She and her husband, Dr. Thomas Schaaf, have one son, T.J. and enjoy outdoor activities, bicycling and family time.
