Dr. Karen Sue Thompson, DO

Had open heart surgery byDr. Karen Thompson. After seven weeks at home I had a small opening in my chest scar. This was due to an infection that she would not acknowledge. Told me it would take 8 months or possibly longer to heal. She got very defensive when I kept asking how this could happen and why so long it would take to heal. After this she just dismissed me and said she was through with me and to see a wound Dr. I thank god I did. This Dr. got it healed in six weeks after cleaning it and then using the right treatment. I was told Dr. Thompson and her assistant was using old school methods. It would have taken months using her method. I do not know if anyone will ever read this but I hope so. Open heart surgery is a real scary thing for anyone. I would want a Dr. that understands this and admit if something goes wrong instead of saying this happens all the time and doesn’t get upset with being questioned about it and then just dismissing you to someone else. Dr. Karen Thompson… might be a good surgeon but outside the operating room she really needs patience and understanding with her patients and she needs to update her treatments if something goes wrong. I truly hope she changes her attitude with her patients
