Summary
A Georgia native, Dr. Barrett earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his internship at the Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia and his surgical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Barrett was in private solo practice for ten years. He is currently on the medical staff at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Dr. Barrett provides a broad range of surgical services with extensive experience in vascular surgery and advanced laparoscopy. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
When not working, Dr. Barrett enjoys scuba diving, photography, and racquetball. He is also an instrument-rated private pilot.
