Not a good people person. Said I said things that I did not. Refused surgery because I questioned him.

The first time I walked in his office last Sept. I liked him. Straight forward, told me what I had, what he was going to do & surgery was planned. After that everything was great. I am 75 with COPD, surgery took a couple hrs. less time & I did not need any pain pills or problems with my breathing. I felt great for having major colon surgery. I am his biggest fan & in the near future I may need surgery again I pray he can do it. My 3 kids all loved him. He's my hug Dr.

D. said that they could do a procedure in Iowa City that they could not do at DSG. Dr smiled at me and said things would be OK turns out when I got to Iowa City they could not do the procedure. Dr Hartman should gave asked one of his nurses to call Iowa City and be sure that they could do this procedure before referring me. I drove an hour there and back and wasted my time. When I got back to Davenport I called DSG and told them what had happened. DR. did not follow up on this the next day saying he was sorry. DR. NEEDS TO FOLLOW UP ON HIS PATIENTS A LITTLE MORE I USED TO TRUST HIM MY TRUST LEVEL WENT DOWN A LITTLE BIT. HE NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO FOLLOW UP WITH HIS PATIENCE BETTER.

Dr. Hartman was very polite and answered all of my questions and gave me the right diagnosis. I would recommend him.

I had a great experience w/ Dr. Hartman. He fit me in the next day for surgery, answered all of my questions before I even asked them, explained things in detail so I understood. He is very quick, but great. During my surgery he saw an unrelated tumor and removed it instead of leaving it for another surgery. After surgery my insurance did not cover leg warmers, he offered to write a letter to my insurance company. I will go to him for any surgeries I need in the future. If you like a slow talking Dr. that will hold your hand, he might not be for you, he is very to the point. But he is precise, knows what he is doing, and will get the job done without being invasive. I can't say how great he was. My mom just requested him instead of the guy her Family Dr provided because he did so well with me.

Would never let my family go to him again. He lies, doesn't follow through with patient problems, and has terrible bed side manor. I had staph infection and had to have second surgery. He lied and said i was allergic to dye used...no it was staph.....had a large hole in breast and he never looked at it. oncologist had to tell him to redo surgery and clean it up. Had mean words with family when they questioned him. Have heard nothing good ab out him. Here are other doctors you can goto.
