Dr. Kirsten Odegard, MD

Dr. Kirsten C. Odegard, MD, is a senior associate in cardiac anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and an associate professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School. Board certified in both general anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology, she specializes in pediatric cardiac anesthesia and perioperative care for children with congenital and acquired heart disease undergoing complex surgical procedures. Dr. Odegard earned her medical degree from Justus Liebig University in Germany and completed advanced training in internal medicine, anesthesiology, and cardiothoracic anesthesia at Lenox Hill Hospital and New York University Medical Center. With decades of expertise in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, she is recognized for her commitment to patient safety, multidisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate, family-centered care for children with complex cardiac conditions.
