Best decision I made for myself was to seek services at this clinic , the staff is wonderful- all of them. I am extremely satisfied with my care I’ve received - I am grateful for the day I became a patient at his clinic .

I would give Dr. Patra and his receptionist 5 stars, but his nurse has poor follow through and is rude. One week before my son's scheduled appt with Dr. Patra I left a few messages for the nurse, explaining that he would run out of meds before the appt and asked what could be done. Two days later I received a call back stating she would have to ask Dr. Patra and get back to me. Friday came and I still heard nothing and left more messages, and still no return call from her. I left more messages Monday and finally heard back. She condescendingly stated that she had already told me Dr. Patra would just have to wait to see him and she refused to admit to never calling me back. Now my son will go days without meds, when I could have made other arrangements had she gotten back to me sooner. It makes me wonder if she even touched base with Dr. Patra at all as I can't see any doctor refusing to prescribe meds to a patient to help them get by until the next appt. I am seriously considering… switching providers over this experience.

Used to see patra when he had an office in The Boys and Girls Home and Family Services. He built his fancy new office and couldn't see me anymore because he no longer accepted my insurance when he closed is office in The Boys and Girls home and Family Services. I have Medicare and Medicaid. He dropped me without a word at a time I needed help the most. I had just been diagnosed with cancer and wasn't able to make an appointment sooner than the one I had because he was no longer at that office. I have to wonder if anyone would have let me know to not show up for my next scheduled appointment. Going through cancer without a someone to help through the mental stress isn't something I would wish on anyone! Any other Dr. would have explained the move and helped set up a patient with a new Dr. or at the very least would have given recommendations for a new Dr.

I have been seeing him for many years. he has always been compassionate, a good listener, and willing to listen to what I want, and encourages my participation in the direction of my care.

Former patient here but had to leave due to insurance previously. I NEEDED to come back, I have new insurance that is accepted, but instead of getting a pre-authorization, I need to pay an unaffordable (to me and many others) $200 up front that will be reimbursed once the insurance covers. I understand it is a business that needs to be ran and bills and paychecks are always due. But there are other ways besides a $200 reimbursement.

I love Dr. Patra and his staff. They are always positive, helpful, and friendly. Dr. Patra takes as much time as I need in my appointments. I like the fact that he is a perfectionist and wants to get to the source of the problem. I also love the ketamine infusions. They have helped my clinical depression immensely and I do not need to take any other prescriptions for it. Just knowing my appointment is coming up always puts me in a good mood. Thank you Dr. Patra.

I have been seeing Dr. Patra for a few years. Today, I went to my appointment, and attempted to discuss changes in my insurance with his receptionist (wife?). I made the mistake of starting by talking about what my therapist told me about my copays. She said "Maam, there is a very large difference between therapists and board certified psychiatrists." I told her she did not need to speak to me that way, and she told me I was lucky to be a patient there! I will never go back. Unbelievably rude.

Avoid the Dakota Dunes office like its the plague and always check with insurance if the all of the sudden say they are not contracted with them. These people down right lied!!! They take advantage of mentally ill people by overcharging them for services & stating that he does not take their insurance even when he is contracted with that insurance company. He specifically told me that he was not being reimbursed enough by the insurance company and that in order to continue seeing him I would have to pay $200 per visit even with my insurance! I was also told I would have to bring cash and that no checks or credit cards would be accepted. Very Shady. He only sees patients on Mondays and Wednesdays and only until 3pm so if you work it is very difficult to be seen.I have always had to wait at least 30 minutes to see him even when he was at Dean & Associates.His wife is the "office manager" and is horrible. She told me I had to bring $200 cash or could not be seen and she actually yelled… at me when I questioned why they were charging me when my Insurance had been paying on previous visits. She refused to answer me.I believe he does know his stuff & appointments are only 15 minutes but he does spend extra time if you need it. Since he has opened his own practice I am questioning his ethics & legality.

Despite having a background in Neurology and Psychiatry he wasn't able to accurately diagnose me with seizures and instead insisted I was having anxiety and panic attacks and kept pushing me to take anti-anxiety pills even though I explicitly stated in our first meeting that I wanted nothing to do with medication. When the medicine he prescribed didn't work he got angry and blamed me for the medication not working because I wasn't coming into therapy and then threw in an added diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder in to spite me. There is no way he could make that diagnosis based on what we discussed in our meetings. Glad to see I'm not the only one who sees how unprofessional he is based on the other reviews.
