Dr. Kurt Blasser

I’ve had 2 hip replacements. My first one was at SE Orthopedics and I’ve never had a problem with it. I came to Mayo because Dr Blasser offered the anterior approach, and it’s “Mayo Clinic”. What a huge mistake. He’s gruff and impersonal, but I figured that didn’t affect his skills as a surgeon. Wrong! It’s been 4 years and my hip still isn’t right. I have an appointment with another surgeon for a revision surgery on my hip, because I can hardly walk on it now. Do not go to this Dr!

Dr Blasser is cool calm collected surgeon with vast knowledge of his field...he gave me back my life when he replaced my hips, and I am grateful to him and his team! The entire Mayo Clinic is gifted having him part of their team! Thank you!

I'VE WORKED IN HEALTHCARE 30+ YEARS.WAS very satified with his competence,knowledge ease of of a speaking with him,very straight forward and deadpan sense of humor.reminds me of my last fire chief,a little cranky but overall a good man and caring doctor,I felt fortunite to have him and his team operating on me.would totally recomend 5 stars.

Wasn’t friendly and seemed rushed during my appointment. Could have cared less about my history.

De. Blasser might not have the greatest bedside manners right away but it’s knowledge and competence that really matters. After the first initial visit, during and after surgery he makes up for it. He is very caring and a fantastic surgeon.

I had researched others reviews a s went to meet Dr. Blasser with an open mind. I found him very pleasant and professional. I feel very confident and at ease with him. I Saw him for my achy stiff knee that is dramatically interrupting my daily workout routine. I hope it's nothing too serious, I will know more after my MRI. Thank You for getting me in so fast.

Dr. Blasser spent very little time with me and did not examine me as he said he did in his notes. I had no trust in him at all. I found a much better dr. who cares.

Dr. Blasser did not spend much time with me. His exam consisted of me waking across the room. He seemed tired and irritated. I was not impressed. Another ortho found the problem and a hip replacement was done. Dr. Blasser just didn't seem to care.

Admittedly not initially impressed with his bedside manner. But my opinion changed dramatically. He follows up. He's organized. He's experienced and does a GREAT job with surgery. Don't look for pity or empathy but if you want a terrific surgeon, he's your man. ps...his PA, Julie is wonderful

Would return to this orthopedic surgeon if I needed more surgery as my experience was perfect and "I have my life back."
