Dr. Larry Sprung, MD

Dr. Sprung is a well-rounded provider, he takes the time during treatment to make sure the patient understands what exactly he is doing from a clinical perspective. That being said, the clinic he works through has been mediocre, in my experience, often times not returning calls during business hours, and generally having a sort of corporate dysfunction that interferes with the ability of the professionals there to effectively treat patients (the best way I could relate it is the satire in "Office Space", there is certainly a Bill Lumbergh somewhere in there). I certainly would recommend Dr. Sprung, especially if you are new to mental health treatment.

Dr Sprung is thoughtful and caring. He provides reasoned, experienced analysis. He has saved my life.

I don't mind seeing Dr sprung for my treatment. He isn't the greatest or the worst doctor I've ever seen, but he'll listen to you, (mostly) at least when its comes to adequate diagnosis and treatment. His wait time for appointments used to be terrible, but he'll at least recognize he is late and apologize for it, is going above and beyond compared to other doctors. The wait times have improved over the last few months from terrible (45 min to over an hour) to slightly annoying (20min as the first patient of the day). Overall all, I'd say he's not a bad doctor to deal with if your options are limited.

The wait time for this doctor is ridiculous. If you decide to see him, it's best to set your appointment as his first of the day. Otherwise, there's no telling how long you'll be sitting in the waiting room. I don't recommend making an appointment over your lunch hour or on a day that you have other errands or appointments scheduled.

The office staff at Dr. Sprung's office located on Layton Avenue, in Milwaukee, was anything but professional. And, after a call back to the office, requesting to speak to an office manager, the attitude was just as bad, especially taking into account that this is an office servicing people in need of mental health services. Someone in the Human Resource Department, for this medical office, needs to make some immediate changes in their staffing, or at least, better educate the staff currently employed there in not only professional office skills, but personality.
