Dr. Laura Cruse, MD

Waited over two hours for Dr. Cruz to come on a telehealth appointment with me. Two hours. No call from the office. No one contacting me at all. It took me an hour to try and set up the call on my computer then I tried my iPad then I tried my phone. It was quite an ordeal. So I thought maybe I did something wrong. After an hour, I called the office. Nope she’s just running late. OK so I wait an hour and a half more and after two hours she finally gets on. Sorry I’m late she says like it’s no big deal like it’s 10 minutes. I sternly responded. I waited over two hours. No response. So the office staff told me that I would still have my half hour to 40 minutes since I’m a new patient. That didn’t happen from the hello to the goodbye. It was 18 rushed minutes. She tells me I need to eat a good meal, good diet. But doesn’t say anymore about that so I said what shouldn’t I eat? Sugar and flour she responds. she asked me about a few of my medical problems. Do I have this or do I have that and… I go to answer her and she’s onto something else. I would try and explain and she talked over me and I just felt so rushed. Then she orders 10 x-rays and I didn’t really know exactly what they were or where I should go. she says she’ll see me next time works out and they gave me the test on My Chart. So I finally got in my chart but I couldn’t find the test. I looked for probably 45 minutes. Decided to call. Oh they’re right there in this tab. So I told the girl in the office if she could find it because I couldn’t. She was very nice but she couldn’t find it either. Somebody will call she said Well it’s five hours later, and after 6 o’clock in the evening. Guess nobody’s calling. I think it was very rude that she did not have somebody contact me when she was running that late. It’s not like I drove down to Wesley Chapel. I was sitting in my home, she could easily have canceled it. I have never been that rushed at a doctors office before and believe me I’ve seen many. So for this reason, I’m not going back and I don’t really have anything nice to say. I think she was inconsiderate and rude.

The staff at this facility are unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I am a Veteran from OEF/OIF war, and while I have private insurance, the Bay Pines VA Medical Center had their only Rheumatologist retired and were therefore referring me out to the community for care. Since all my care is handled by AdventHealth, I asked that they would please schedule me with Dr. Cruse’s office. The VA employee, call me back after several hours of calls and arguments, very sad to tell me that the staff at Dr. Cruse office said they where going to call Optum, the third party (insurance network) that handles insurance claims for the VA now that they switch over from triwest, telling her that they have stated time and time again that they don’t want to care for their patients because of issues getting paid by their insurance network. I am sadden to hear, number 1, that they are refusing care to Veterans because of money, number 2, how they treated this professional employee who dedicated her life to… the service of those who risks theirs for others when the problem came from a third party, and 3 that they would be willing to take the time and go through the trouble of removing themselves from the Optum Network, but they couldn’t take the time to listen and see that I actually have private insurance and that I am already under AdventHealth’s network of care. Tsk, tsk, tsk... shame on you all!!!

Asked to show up 30 minutes early for appointment but was not told I would have to wait 2 to 3 hours to be seen. Took 3 office staff to check me in as Insurance Card confused the first one. New patient paperwork is ridiculous, same questions asked on three different pages. CMT does Triage if you can call it that tells you doctor will be there shortly closes the door and the wait begins. If this doctor knowingly spends 1 to 2 hours with every patient she needs to schedule accordingly and not overbook for the money. I feel I should be reimbursed for the time I took off of work to sit in an office only to leave without being seen. Hope this isn't a reflection of how all Advent Health is going to function.

Advent Health needs to clean house and here are some reasons why: 1. Staff that have no clue what they are doing, takes 3 people to check one person in. Can't figure out insurance and how to verify. Office Manager has to ask what everyone is doing and then assign duties to each person. 2. CMT does Triage if that is what you call it tells you the doctor will be with you shortly, closes the door and the waiting begins. 3. Told to be there 30 minutes prior to appointment time which I did, Filled out new patient paperwork same questions on three different sheets of paper not sure how that helps and my appointment was for Rheumatoid Arthritis so I am not sure what asking me when my last Colonoscopy was done has anything to do with RA. 4. 2 hours later still not seen by Doctor, but that could be due to a Lunch Presentation from a Pulmonary Group. 5. If not in the luncheon then staff out in the hallway on their cell phone conducting personal business. 6. If this Dr. knowingly spends… 1 to 2 hours with every patient then she needs to schedule appts. accordingly, not overbook for the money and not have patients waiting 2 to 3 hours in a room. 7. I feel I should be reimbursed for the time I took off of work to sit and wait. Do I understand that some appointments run over in time yes, but not by 2 hours.

This is the most disorganized and uncouth bunch of so called medical professionals that I have ever dealt with. Dr. Cruse has zero compassion for her patients. She doesn't listen and always seems like her mind is somewhere else. Wait times are extremely long and both offices are dirty and disgusting. Don't waste your time with this greedy doctor.

Called for appoint to see Dr Cruse and talked to Melissa .Told her that my wife needed to see Dr Cruse as soon as possible .. She was able to get us in the very next day THANK YOU Melissa..

They don't call you back for an appointment. If you need a doctor you can get an appointment with in a two week time frame, this is not the place for you. They won't work you in. Appointments are 2 to 3 months out, you could die as far as they care. I am finding a new doctor!!!! If you get an appointment, plan on waiting forever on the doctor to see you! Wait and wait......

Dr. Cruse is great! Yes, there was a bit of a wait to get in to see her, but it is worth it. Her staff are very friendly and kind. Dr. Cruse has a great bedside manner, she is very caring and explains things well. Will continue to see her and will recommend her to anyone who is in need of a good rheumatologist.

DR.CRUSE IS A VERY COMPASSIONATE AND CARING DR. SHE SPENDS TIME WITH YOU. SHE ALSO IS MY ELDERLY MOTHERS DR.
