Dr. Lauren Francia Streicher, MD

I went to her because another dr suggested her...I needed a operation... she is in a nice building on the lake & all looks good...has her own private operating area at northwestern hosp, did not know this... day of surgery I was treated by students, not her. I went there because I thought I was getting her, THE BEST. She was there but was letting students practice on me.... I found out later....in recovery room I was in pain in my groin area....she really acted like it was nothing.....this is more than 3 yrs now & I have pain still in my upper thigh groin area......lesson learned, just because a dr writes books, goes on TV, is in a great building by the lake & is a teacher at northwestern hosp does not mean she is good at what she does.....& she pushed her book at me too, told me to buy it.

The first time I saw Dr. Streicher I felt she was very intelligent, smart and saavy. I chose her because she was a NAMs certified MD. She seemed very understanding and knowledgable about someone who had cancer. This year was my 3rd visit she barely said more than 2 words to me and brushed off my concerns. She seems more rushed and and uninterested in patients and more in the promotion of her of latest books. She lacks professionalism as well as having a short attention span for listening to the patient which she actually promotes in her books. She has lost touch with her patients and her last words in answering my questions were "read my books". Really? That's not why I'm a patient here. I will be seeking a new MD. Buyer beware !
