Dr. Lawrence Silverman, MD

Outrageously poor service by the office. I arrived with my child 15 minutes late to our appointment due to traffic. The office processed our arrival and took our co-pay. Provided 3 pages of new patient paperwork. 10 minutes later we were told that they would not honor the appointment and would only reschedule. I explained that the traffic was out of my control and I had taken the morning off from work to come in for the appointment. I was told that this was their office policy and they would not make exceptions. We were turned away. When I called the billing office to process a refund for the copay, I was told it would take 4-6 weeks to review. I informed them that the office cancelled my appointment. Once again, I was told that their policy was to process refunds within a 4-6 week timeframe. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the call was dropped. I have no idea if Dr. Silverman is capable as a doctor since we didn't get to see him, but his office and its policies defy common… sense. I wouldn't reschedule with him or anyone in the practice after this experience.

Dr Silverman is a caring doctor. He responded emails/calls pretty quickly. When I had difficulty scheduling an appointment with another specialist, he made a phone call to the doctor to explain the urgency so that I could see the specialist months ahead of time.

My child sees him regularly, every few months. Both she and I despise seeing him. He has almost no bedside manner, he is condescending and acts like he is the authority on absolutely everything. It is very difficult to get an appointment with him and although some of the staff is nice, others are not. The reason I have no switched to another doctor is because many of the other doctors at that practice don't stay very long and I wouldn't want to have to switch again.

I was a patient of Dr. Silverman's for several years. (approx age 9 to age 16 or 17) In the time I was a patient he showed great bedside manner and always explained everything to me instead of my parents. In addition, since I stopped seeing Dr. Silverman I have asked him questions about my condition via email and he is always quick to respond with the best response possible. It is extremely rare to find a doctor who cares enough about their patients after they're no longer patients. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Silverman should show more bedside manners towards his patients with weight issues. He should show more compassion with his patient's who struggle with weight issues,instead of assuming its just laziness or sitting on a couch for hrs end
