Dr. Lee J Herbst, MD

Doctor was aggressive, began the appointment by policing my "tone", repeatedly demanded that I explain why I was upset (I wasn't, and kept saying I was fine), implied that I was unhappy to be pregnant, invaded my personal space, made me feel unsafe, and then exploded when I finally got up shaking and walked out on the appointment. I have never experienced bullying in a medical setting before but this was a horrible, frightening experience. I strongly encourage anyone seeking care at Guthrie to consider another doctor.

I couldn't have asked for a better Doctor to deliver both my children.

Please take heed to the women prior to my review on his uncaring attitude. He will all but call you a straight up "liar" when trying to explain your medical history to him. He will manipulate prenatal appointments to suit his personal feelings on your pregnancy decisions. If you are a high-risk mother, who has ever had to face the prospect of early termination due to genetic disorders... RUN!! Do not allow this "doctor" even one minute of your time. His bedside manner is considerably lacking. He is very condescending. Will try to intimidate you if you even remotely question his reasoning in any manner. He is very arrogant and he will more than make you feel like you're wasting HIS time. I beg you, ladies! Don't go through the heartache this guy will cause you!

I've seen Dr. Herbst since 2004 when i deliveried my son. Over the course of 8 years I knew things were getting bad ib my pelvix area. When i told him about the pain, he told me it was all in my head and i was just a worrisome person. Also said I couldn't get my tubes tied until I was 30, "state requirement" he said. I recently went to a different OB and 3 weeks later, ended needing a trans-vague hystero, a TVT and anterior/posterior repair. I'm on day 4 of recovery and upset with Herbst for the lies. I had a 3rd degree prolasped uterus as well. I want to jam the papers in his face. I don't trust him. Please listen to me!

Professional yet friendly. Dr. Herbst has a splendid bed side manner and really enjoys his work. He has always been up front and straight during every visit. Highly recommended!

Dr.Herbst is the best OB/GYN I have ever had. I have had several in the past. They leave or have been difficult to communicate with (inclucing the Dr. who delivered my baby many years ago, he never told me anything). Dr.Herbst has been at Sayre for over a decade now, hopefully he will retire here so I can grow old having him as my OB/GYN for many years to come. He is easy to talk to, down to earth and is willing to help with what ever problem you may have. He has helped me many times for different problems and has always been accurate. I highly recommend him.

Awful experience!! Went as a new patient, left feeling like a bother! Dr. Herbst looked at his watch twice during our apt. Was very short, unwilling to answer questions or give advice. He went over new patient info (which takes some time, I admit) but was not willing to address any of my concerns as a woman trying to conceive for some time. At one point he actually said to me "I dont know why you are here"!!! Was very flippant and made me feel insignificant. First impressions are important and this Dr. FAILED!

I appreciated the short wait time, the ease in getting an appt., especially as a new patient. Then again, perhaps there was a reason why I could get an appointment so easily - the doctor himself was condescending, arrogant, and not helpful. I also ended up paying a huge sum of money for this 10 minute visit, which will never again be repeated.

Dr. Herbst is an incredible doctor. I was nervous about seeing a male doctor for my pregnancy but he truly cares about his patients and is very knowledgable. Highly recommended!
