Dr. Leon Khikliong Liem, MD

I have cerebral palsy and wound up in need of L4-L5 with instrumentation (a spacer cage) last May (2017). I could not walk 50 feet without excruciating pain. My back was in such bad shape that Dr. Liem honestly told me that it was doubtful that he could do everything he wanted to do. Fast forward one month and he came to see me in the hospital post-op. Not only was he able to do everything he hoped to do, but he was also able to get enough bone from the surrounding area for the fusion part of the procedure without taking a bone graft from my hip. I was literally up and walking the next day. I am completely pain free now. Oh, his bedside manner was very pleasant. I don't wish back fusion surgery on anyone, but Dr. Liem is your go-to surgeon if you need that procedure.--Dr. Stephen Dantzig (unrelated professional field).

I had a good experience with Dr. Liem. The wait time was less than 5 minutes, and he had gone over the imaging, and treatment options with me and allowed me to ask questions. He used his spine model to explain my problems and how the treatment would be done, and the possible complications. He hand-wrote a prescription for me as I understood, many offices have the receptionists to prepare it. I don't know about the surgical outcomes, since I have no experience, but the diagnosis and conservative treatment worked well, and I had a good experience at his office.
