If you want to just have a friendly visit...he's your man. If you want to have a physician who truly cares about you and your family's health concerns, keep looking....he won't refer a patient even if the symptoms are worrisome and turn out to have a fatal outcome....he's only interested in seeing as many patients as he can to make his quota and therefore his pocketbook.

He won't refer a patient to another physician or specialist even when symptoms are worrisome because it takes away from his primary care quota of patients to see daily.

Down to earth, easy to communicate with, a real person, not a medical automaton. I have great faith in his medical skill and have recommended him to my friends and family.

Uncaring

I would not recommend this doctor unless you want to just have a nice chat. He reports triglycerides over 230, fasting glucose over 100 and cholesterol/HDL ratio over 5.0 as "perfect" labs. His reports are more of an exercise in amateur psychology than evaluating the cause of a patient's symptoms. He also doesn't return phone calls.

He is very personable Andries not make you feel like a "patient" I have seen him many times in the last 15 or so years and I have never had to wear a Johnny, this is a small detail that helps out a nervous patient very much. Moreover my visits feel more like a visit with an old friend.
