Have you seen Dr. Mark Lewis?
March 23rd, 2009Unproffessional, judgemental, noncaring and assumptive
My husband has been suffering from jaw pain for several months. Sometimes the pain is easy and tolerable. The othertimes it is sharp. We called the office of Dr Russell Sliker, his primary doctor. He is out of the office during the week. They called there other location on Chatham Pkwy. They didnt have any openings. They suggested we go to the Emergency Room at Effingham County Hospital. While there, we waited for triage and patient enrollment. They declined to take his insurance card until AFTER the visit. Finally, we were called to a room where we sat for around 10-15 minutes. The doctor came in, asked about the problem, he proceeded to check the ears, and the throat. NEVER did he even feel the the jaw joint for problems, nor, offer an x-ray. He just said he was going to send the clerk in, not even offering an explanation of what he thought the diagnosis was.The clerk came in and said they had a NEW policy that sense the doctor did not feel it was an URGENT matter, they would only see him if he paid $150.00 up front. The doctor was implykng that the only reason we were there, was for pain medication, which is VERY insulting. My husband doesn't like going to the dr. and only in dire circumstances, does he go.I would like to see Dr Mark Lewis have consequences for his rude actions that definitely go against the oath he took when becoming a doctor.
