Dr. Mark Desmond

Indigent bedside manner. Very dismissive regarding complaints or concerns. Rushed the visit after waiting 40 minutes. He spent less than 10 minutes with me and did not want to hear my concerns as to why I was there.

Dr. Desmond is a Godsend. Long story short.. broken arm, lots of insurance ( lack of) red tape etc. I was in agony for about 11 days. Dr. Desmond listened, gave me the diagnosis, explained everything, and asked if I had questions. He did my surgery, and kept me pain free! I’m am so grateful that I found him. He’s the real deal. He cares, and he’s not a cold, or distant doctor. Go see him.. you’ll be glad you did.

I've been his patient for quite a few years. I followed him from 3 B, Rothman, and I was thrilled to find him at Jeanes campus part of Temple. I wouldn't want to see any other orthopedic doctor. I highly recommend Dr Desmond. No waiting, xray in office. Perfect.

My 12 yo son had a tele visit with Dr. Desmond. He was transitioning from foot surgery into a boot. Dr. Desmond was patient and kind in listening to my sons concerns about his mobility. Dr. Desmond gave him great info to get his foot moving again. He put my son at ease.

My left knee needs to be replaced, it’s been ok for years but suddenly got real painful. Dr Desmond examined the xrays, my knee and asked me where I felt pain, twinges etc. Gave me full and clear expanation of options we could use. Glad I found him. And more good news, he has a very professional staff the wait wasn’t long.

I have been a patient over 10 years. I will say he is direct and I like that. He tells you your options no sugar coating. I have arthritis bad in 1 knee and in my hips. There have been many times over the years I needed my knee drained, I have had it done by a few other Doctors and it was an excruciating experience. When Dr. Desmond drained it I had only slight pain. The DR knew exactly where to place the needle no fishing around. I won't go to any other DR.

Not even worth a 1 star, this is a 0 star review. Throughout the years I have been to quit a few doctors, not a lot, and I have to say that this so called Doctor Mark Desmond, has to be the worst that I have ever been to in my life, I’m 64 pretty active not your typical 64 year old man. This person had no interest in what I had to say, would not allow me to even finish answering his questions, trying to tell me I would never be able to do the things I want to, like drive truck part time 1 day a week, didn’t even seem like he was talking to me. Seems like the only interest he had was the money from the visit. I should not have even paid for that. When I got home I called the insurance company and filed a complaint concerning him and the appointment that I just had. I called his office at 3110 Grant Ave. and canceled his next appointment and setup an appointment with another orthopedic doctor, with another hospital other than Aria. Steve

If I could give a negative star review then I would. My mother was referred to this doctor because she was told that he manages long term arthritis. (which by the way it also states in his online profile on the hospital website) He was by far the most cockiest doctor I have ever encountered. No bedside manner! No compassion! Treated medicine like it was just a business instead of caring for people and helping them get better. He spoke to my mother like she was scum of the earth! Stated that "he was a surgeon ans is not sure why she was sent to him". Refused to order additional scans until he realized that my sister works in the a doctors office and knows the process of precertifications. I will be filing an official complaint with the hospital board.
