Dr. Mark Soliman, MD, FACS, FASCRS

Dr. Soliman performed an ascending colectomy by laparoscopic, robotic surgery. Surgery was successful, even though complicated by scaring from two previous surgeries performed more than 40 years ago. Surgical recovery was very quick and with an absolute minimum of post-operative pain. Dr. Soliman was very responsive to all of my needs and questions. He would respond to my emails within 24 hours. As a Christian, it meant a lot to me that when he saw me just before surgery, he asked if he could pray with me. From that point on, I knew I had chosen the best doctor / surgeon for my colon cancer surgery.

Medical knowledge & surgical ability are good. Overall patient care is , at best, mediocre. Checking his watch while meeting with him, unprepared for follow up office visit (not up to date with my treatment & had to reiterate entire history of disease/treatment/ symptoms), failure to schedule followup visit after surgery (should have been scheduled when surgery was scheduled but wasn't). Needed an MRI and a PET/CT scan for complete diagnosis -scheduled MRI but not PET/CT Scan which resulted in delayed treatment and extreme stress for me (when asked he stated I don't do that, the Oncologist does). Office operates at the same level. My treatment required simultaneous radiation & chemo therapy treatment which obviously needed to be coordinated between 3 doctors. IMO Dr Soliman failed in this area. In summary I'd say that he is a good knowledgeable surgeon that falls short on complete/overall patient care.

I had read the reviews on Dr. Soliman and therefore went to him. I did not experience long waits like some others but found him to be short and curt with me. Each time I went, I was told something different, he will talk to the board and come back in 2 weeks. I had told him and the chemo and radiation doctors I was moving at the end of Sept. and the last time I visited Dr. Soliman he said that since my tumor was slow growing I could perhaps get by with monitoring. Then 7 days later I had to have a colostomy ASAP with no explanation. This was to be done 2 days before my move. I told him no. And one time he walked out on me when I was still speaking so I thought that was rude. So moving to another state, I found a surgeon who explained everything to me, said I only had to be in the hospital 2 nights not the 5 Dr. Soliman wanted. All about money? But I am glad I found a surgeon who took time with me. Dr. Soliman may the greatest surgeon on earth but I found his patient manner… to me condescending. Sharon Christel

I am 79 and have been to many Drs. in my lifetime. Dr. Soliman and his team are the best Drs. I have ever been to. I recently had Colon surgery which is pretty tough. Dr. Soliman had to work very hard to do what he had to to and fix my problem. Very happy with the turnout. He removed my cancer and now cancer free. Thank you so much. Tony Cavalieri

Dr. Soliman is a great doctor but his practice is never on time. I have now been seen 2x over an hour after appointment time.

Ex cellent doctor. Due diligence is outstanding. Saw a different man/doctor In prayer. Treated me with respect.

Dr. Soliman did an excellent job taking care of me during my surgery and follow ups. Any questions and concerns that I had were taken care of. Dr. Soliman explained everything so that I completely understood what was going on and what to expect.

Dr. Soliman is the best Dr in Orlando. He is smart, Kind, to the point, tells you like it is and follows up on everything. He prays with you.I would never go to anyone but him. When you trust your Dr. everything will go well. My surgery was very long almost 5 hrs. He fixed me, any other Dr. would of operated on me right away and I would of had a forever colostomy.I thank Dr. Soliman for taking great care of me. #1 in my book.

Dr. Soliman did colon surgery on me last October. My surgery took twice as long as expected and Dr. Soliman worked hard to fulfill his promise to me of avoiding a colostomy. I was so very impressed with his demeanor, skill, faith and dedication. I cannot say enough good things about him--his work was excellent and I am feeling great now.

When my digestive disease specialist explained the need to have prevention surgery with the ascending colon removal, he recommended the doctor practice he would use for himself. My concerns were allayed upon meeting Dr Soliman and his staff. He made me feel my concerns were his concerns and was direct with his explanation of the process he would undertake with full descriptions of the pre & post surgery. This was a huge relief on my mind and the surgery was successful. He also wrote the Robotic and Laporoscopic Colon & Rectal Guide used at the Florida Hospital Altamonte Springs, Florida. I am grateful my digestive specialist, Dr. Richard Straker recommended Dr. Soliman. I would recommend Dr Soliman to anyone. I hope to only see him around town and will again give him my Thanks and Appreciation for putting my health a very high priority.
