I had a massive rotator cuff tear that was surgically repaired by Dr. Wichman. He did such a fantastic job, with the surgery, people were amazed at how well I healed. I am 12 weeks out after surgery and have very little pain, and am progressing very well with my PT. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wichman for ANY type of orthopedic surgery you need.
The number 1 goal was to repair my torn rotator cuff. Mission accomplished!! Dr Wichman & staff thourghly explained what was going to happen during the procedure. My only complaint was wait time to see Wichman while at the office.
I visited Dr. Wichman for a torn meniscus. He repaired it lickity-split! Unfortunately, my other knee met its end and required total replacement. Dr. Wichman spent as much time as I needed discussing options, procedure, aftercare and provided visual aids. Had the total knee replacement and 4 months later I'm better than I have been for the last 4yrs. Dr. Wichman is a very very good but more than that he's got talent. I have high praise for him and would recommend him to everyone! So glad he was my Dr. Thank u Dr Mark Wichman!
Dr. Wichman exhausted all options of treatment (ie, cortizone, PT) before surgery was even mentioned as an option. The manner in wich he explains what the issue is and what he suggests as a treatment plan was very easy to understand. His post surgery plan was spot on, PT and then Occupational Therapy. The post surgery out come was great. I highly reccomend him as a surgeon. I had my right shoulder repaired 6 years ago by Dr. Wichman and the left shoulder in late 2015. I am completely satisfied with the results. If you want the best results, go to the best.
Dr. Mark Wichman really listens to me. We had surgery with another surgeon and we were having problems. I wanted to get a second opinion and we were referred to Dr. Mark Wichman. He evaluated our situation and came up with a plan that made sense. He had to revise the previous repair, but all turned out well. I would highly recommend him. His staff was great too!
Excellent experience. I am planning to have my other shoulder repaired by Dr. Wichman as well. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
I was referred to Dr. Wichman by my primary care doctor. I really liked him and the way he spends his time and explain things to me. I never feel rushed out and if I have questions or concerns, he answers them for me. After I decided to have the surgery I was afraid but somehow I had greath faith in Dr. Wichman that I wasn't so afraid anymore and just believed in him. He did an excellent work on my knee and I am very fortunate that my primary care sent me to him. He is an awesome doctor and I have heard many good things about him and now I see why. My knee turned out good and now its healing well and I'm up and about. His NP Theresa and his nurse Samantha were awesome throughout my visit with him. They helped me with my forms for short term disability and were always concern about the well being of my knee. His whole staff has been great with me and I appreciate everything they have done for me. I am very blessed to have met him and his staff.
Dr. Wichman helped me to choose the best technique for my particular situation. I am way ahead of my expectations (and my therapists'). Highly recommend Dr. Mark Wichman and his staff!
Dr. Wickman was very informative, he spent a good amount of time explaining the procedure, post operative treatment . I would definitely recommend Dr. Wickman to family and friends
For a torn medial meniscus Mark performed arthroscopic surgery. The procedure was quick, and the earlier pain was manageable. Healing was quick and rehab was not needed. He showed and explained the problem and what was to be expected. He showed the actual video after the operation and it was very remarkable. I highly recommend this doctor.
Dr. Mark Wichman repaired my torn ACL and I got back to playing the sports that I love. He also fixed my Dad's shoulder last year and he is doing great. Highly recommend!
Love Dr. Wichman! Though it can be hard to get an appointment, it serves to impress that he is a great doc. I have two torn rotator cuffs and had one surgery so far. It went so well I am actually looking forward to getting the other one done. He says I'm looking as though I'm at four months out instead of two because of how well things are going. He's got a great bedside manner, talks things through, and his PA, Tara, is awesome.
Dr Wichman first treated my son for an ACL repair. My son healed great. When it came time for my knee replacement, I chose Dr Wichman. I'm 9 months post-op and couldn't be happier. I'm so grateful and blessed to have Dr Wichman as my Dr. I highly recommend him!
My husband is a patient of Dr Wichman and referred me. I was diagnosed with a tear in my rotator cuff. Dr Wichman took a conservative approach and shared with me my options. I ultimately had surgery and am now several months post-op. I barely have a scar and my shoulder is steadily improving. Dr Wichman is not only a great surgeon, but a kind and compassionate man!
Mark T. Wichman is a great physician. He treated me excellent care. The Mayfair facility is very clean, staff members are very compassionate about their job. My experience was excellent.
Dr. Wichman changed my life, relieving me of severe shoulder pain. He diagnosed rotator cuff tears, bone spurs and arthritis. He operated on my shoulder and made all the repairs needed. During this process he was very knowledgeable, informative, gave me excellent advice and, once recovered, the ability to continue working-without pain in my shoulder. He is a brilliant surgeon, he is very humble, personable and companionate. He will listen to you and understands what you are going through. He is doctor that truly cares for his patients and strives to do his best for them. I would recommend anyone needing shoulder surgery to see Dr. Mark Wichman.
excellent bedside manner and extremely intelligent
Dr. Mark Wichman has treated my shoulder and knee problems for several years. He always takes time with me and answers my questions. I have needed surgery on my shoulder. He is an excellent surgeon! Highly recommended.
was very good explained things took his time seemed to care...will go to him again if needed to
I have seen Dr. Mark Wichman. I have had a few different surgeries and highly recommend him as a surgeon. He has excellent bed side manners and high credentials. I rate him as a five star. Dr wichman is very thorough and explains every thing before proceeding. Highly recommend.
I have had several surgeries with Dr. Wickman, he is professional and I have experienced great surgical outcomes. I would recommend him to my family, friends and fellow nurses!
Due to a shoulder injury, I have seen and been operated on by many specialist over the last several years throughout the Milwaukee Area. In a very short time, Dr. Wichman gained my absolute trust. He took the extra time to listen and learn about my injury. Simply put, he is very caring. Dr. Wichman has the ability to explain complex medical terms and procedures in a way someone outside of the medical field can understand. I would highly recommend Dr. Wichman to friends and family
I just had arthroscopic surgery on my knee 10 days ago. Dr. Mark Wickman quickly worked me in, as I had a trip planed in May. The entire staff were so very polite and caring. I will recommend Dr. Wickman to all my family and friends. He did an excellent job on my knee and I am up and resuming all of my activities. Extremely impressed with all.
I had seen Dr. Wichman for several years for a bone spur/shoulder issues before finally opting for surgery this year. I had been doing relatively ok with cortisone shots but of course it never actually solved the problem. He never pushed for the surgery and always left it completely up to me, which I appreciated. I had a bone spur removed and a bicep tenodesis done 6 months ago and it went great. I was only on pain pills for less than a week and the pain was never really above a 5 on a 10 pt scale. It was far less than expected. I am doing great and am so glad that I had it done. I would see him again if the need arose in a heartbeat. He is easy to talk to, answers my questions, has a great sense of humor, he's respectful, and overall is one of the good ones. Highly recommend.
I had ACL reconstruction with hamstring back in the late 90's. My knee has grown steadily worse because of this hack. He was a Mr. slick, fast talking ego centric type of guy who talked me into this procedure which I thoroughly regret. I'm limited to walking today and all stop n go sports are a distant memory. Sometimes it's painful just walking up the stairs. Be forewarned and make sure you get plenty of references and check out at least five Dr's before you make a decision which will affect your livelihood years down the road.
Joe. I'm very sorry to hear that your knee is giving you trouble. Unfortunately, an ACL reconstruction can only stabilize the knee. This can help to slow the progression of arthritis, but certainly can't stop it. I bet that is what is happening to your knee after 15 years. There are very cool things going on right now that may allow us to put genetically engineered cartilage transplants into people's knees just like you. It's probably still a few years away, however.
I have seen Dr. Wichman for 15 years and he has cared for many of my friends and family members. I would refer anyone with knee and shoulder problems to him. He even offered me tickets to an upcoming hockey game! (he is the team physician)
I have seen Dr. Wichman for both my knee and my shoulder in the past. He is compassionate, caring, and spent a lot of time with me. He is a wonderful surgeon and I would travel from anywhere to see him again if I ever needed the care of an Orthopedic surgeon again!
I saw Dr. Wichman for my shoulder pain, I waited almost an hour in the waiting room after my appt time, he seemed like he was in a rush to properly diagnose. Overall he didn't seem to care at all. I will never see him again.
I had an instability and pain problem in my knee, had the X-Ray and MRI done. Two cysts appeared on the MRI, he said they are causing the problem and could be removed through surgery. After surgery and 3 weeks of recovery, the same pain and instability was there. I saw him after 4 weeks and his diagnosis was "I don't know what's wrong". Nice. So after all the money spent on the surgery and dr visits, recovery, etc nothing has changed except for my bank account. I would recommend another surgeon if you have a knee problem. You read his bio and he said he cares about his patients as if they were family. He didn't seem to care that he didn't fix my issue. He said we should try physical therapy, nice, more money towards that. It should have been suggested in the first place before cutting me open.
