I have seen Dr. Blount for years and have even referred friends to her. We all love her. She is caring, kind, and patient. She takes time to listen and discuss options with you. I think she is a great doctor.

Dr. Marsha Blount is absolutely the worst, arrogant, neglecting woman I've ever met in my entire life! By far she is the worst doctor in all of San Diego if not the entire universe. She has left chronic back pain even after open heart surgery and told me I just had sciatica pain when I had a dislocated tail bone as well as multiple disk issues and severe back pain. She ordered back x-rays that didn't even include my coccyx even though I clearly told her what was hurting me. She never put in the back doctor referral that she said she did so I had to wait months. It's been 6 months and she has only tried to push 2 meds on me that I told her I'm not comfortable taking and told me those were my ONLY 2 options. When i said I felt she was being untruthful and that the back specialist said they're were over 15 other medication options she got mad, told me I had to find a new doctor and start all over and even hung up on me! I've never been so mistreated in my life. I see why she's had other… bad reviews that are similar to my experience with her. I wish I would have seen these reviews prior to selecting her as my physician. Biggest mistake I ever made! I highly recommend you find a different doctor if you want good care this is not the doctor for you.

Dr. Blount went above and beyond with my mother - who was determined to be a very difficult patient! She spent about triple the time I would have expected, was so thorough and caring, I can't imagine better.

About 4 years ago I started getting really sick. I was having many issues and symptoms that I had never experienced. This was the worst time of my life and all I wanted to know what was wrong with me. I started seeing Dr. Blount regularly bc almost everyday I was feeling like c**p! I kept explaining all my symptoms to her as best I could and all she kept telling me was that I was depressed and had anxiety and she kept pushing different types of SSRI's. As it is I am very sensitive when it comes to strong medications and in trying out the different meds she rx I kept getting worse due to experiencing immediate side effects. And when I mean immediate, I mean immediate! After like the 5th rx I told her I did not want any more meds and her response was "there is nothing else I can do for you then." Note, she did conduct different tests i.e. blood work, MRI, x-rays, etc and found nothing! Well, after about a year and a half when Dec rolled around, I changed my insurance from HMO to PPO (idc… to pay more at this time bc I wanted to be able to change Dr's asap if I encountered someone else like her) . Soon after my new insurance kicked in I started seeing another Dr. I explained to him all my symptoms just like I had done previously and right away I knew this Dr was 100xs better than Dr. Blount bc he took the time to really listen to me and asked a lot of questions to try and rule out labeling me as depressed/anxious. Just by having asked questions and finding out things of my family history the Dr was able to pin point what I might be suffering from and after more blood work...hallelujah! Within months of taking the right medication (nothing to do with SSRI's) I finally starting feeling better. All it took was one visit from him compared to the whole year and a half I spent with Dr. Blount. p.s. Had I continued with my symptoms and being untreated, I would have ended up with severe complications.

Dr. Blount is by far the best doctor I have ever had. She is knowledgeable, patient and truly takes her time at each appointment, She is direct yet compassionate and has that bedside manner that seems to be nonexistent these days, I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Blount is the most ignorant, disrespecful, and gullable person and doctor i have ever encountered. She made false accusations to me and degraded me in front of the entire staff. Even with my entire medical record in her hands, she refused to review it and accused me of being a junkie. This was the most humiliating and degrading moment of my life, i have never been so disrespected and i dont recommend her to anyone. She should have been required to go to school to learn how to be a human before being a doctor.
