Dr. Mary Jane Barth

This doctor saved my son's life when he was 5 days old with Aortic Coarctation. my son is 7 1/2 years old and his echo shows almost seamless scar line and he is healthy as can be. I am eternally grateful to Dr Barth!

Overall experience with Dr. Barth was amazing. My daughter had 2 congenital heart defects. Dr. Barth and her team set up our appointment for surgery within 2 weeks of consult. She came in and saw us before surgery, and was with us explaining how it went directly after. She came in at least once a day while we were in the hospital, and when she wasn't with us, we saw her on the computer in the PICU. We saw her there every morning at 6am and she was there until after 7pm. Discharged after 48 hours because of her supreme work. She is highly dedicated and incredibly caring. Highly recommended.

Flippant about my child's care and problems after surgery. Passed her care off onto several others, refused to see her or readmit her after discharge from surgery even though her problems stemmed from the surgery-- fluid on the lungs and respiratory problems. Very hands-off, we rarely saw her and almost never saw her alone. Made us think that she cannot make decisions, we lost confidence in her as a surgeon after the first few days when things started to go wrong and there was little communication except through others. I heard that she never operates alone either, maybe she is not competent.

Dr. Barth is a wonderful surgeon and wonderful person. The care and concern that she shows for her patients exceeds that of other doctors that I have come into contact with. I highly recommend her and her services.

My child had surgery then we saw Dr Barth only 4-5 times over a three week period. She does not take care of her patients in the hospital, many other physicians involved but you would think the surgeon would care enough to take care of problems and complications. My child had multiple strokes after her surgery and nearly died several times, we were told beforehand it was a routine surgery with low complication rate.
